Powerful and silent performance 🐓 🐓 🥚
Living in a northern clime, keeping chickens warm during the winter can be a challenge. Cold chickens don’t lay as many eggs, and the difference is substantial when the full bite of winter sets in. Plus there’s the inconvenience of frozen drinking water, requiring immediate intervention to save thirsty chickens, not to mention the risk of frostbite.Until two days ago, I used a fan-type ceramic heater. While this was usually adequate, it struggled to keep up in single-digit weather, and collected copious amounts of dust on the fan and heating elements. This led to risky situations unless the unit was cleaned at least weekly with compressed air.I installed this 1500W panel heater just ahead of a snowy cold snap with 10° weather last night, and it worked perfectly! With the old ceramic heater of the same wattage, i had to expect frozen drinking water in the morning in weather like this, but to my delight there was no such problem this morning. The convective flow of warm air silently wafting through the large radiant surfaces of the panel had kept the coop in the low 30°s all night, even with the somewhat drafty coop and chicken-vandalized insulation.I also bought some anti-bird spikes for the wall, which you may be able to see in the picture if you zoom in, in order to keep the birds from perching on top of the unit and blocking the airflow.Without any meaningful horizontal surfaces inside the unit, I expect dust accumulation to be minimal, slashing the risk of overheating and inefficiency which I had to continuously fight with the underpowered ceramic fan heater. The sheet of stainless steel foil, which I had laying around since the 90’s, which I attached behind the unit, was probably not strictly necessary, as the back surface temperature during operation is hot, but not hot enough to affect the wall. But it was nice to finally find a use for the sheet after thirty years. It provides a small boost to the efficiency by reflecting rather than absorbing the radiant heat from the back of the unit. Its temperature setting seems to be accurate, and the remote control makes adjustments easy.I at first felt like this unit might be an extravagance for chickens, but the peace of mind and increased performance and convenience I have seen over the last couple of days so far are making me glad I pulled the trigger on this purchase.

Love these
For the money these rock. I've got a 40 ft shipping container that is set up as a kitchen and bathroom. It married up to a 20 ft container that is laundry room and utilities I've got 2 in the 49 ft and one in 20 ft. These are not insulated. We are still building so doors are open most week days. It's been super cold nights down to 17 degrees. So far these things have delt with it. They are slow to heat but they heat really well got give them an hour or 2 since they are straight convection. I arrived at 8am this morning the low last night was 39 here. Opened door and toasty warm pretty much 70 degrees they consume very little power for the heat no moving parts no fan so absolute silence. Just but 4 more they will be in every bathroom of our build cant tell how long they will last but no moving parts so not sure what can fail other than the termostat

Good Fit
Seems to work perfectly. I mounted it in my small bathroom, a couple of months ago, and kept it at 65 F continually. I plugged it into a smart plug to monitor its run and cost. It only needs to turn on in the early hours, around 2AM for about an hour and that's when my thermostat is set to its lowest of 58 F in the late evening and averaged last month 1.0 kWh daily. I think it may prove to be a good way to save energy during bedtime and you can visit a bathroom that doesn't feel like you're using an outhouse ;-)... PS: I'm in the New York region which has seen 20-30 F on average...

Excellent Quality but...
Very well made and sturdy. It works great. There is an option to wall mount but I decided to use the included wheels instead. Note, it does take up more floor space if you use the wheels. The front and back panels get are metal and get very, very hot, which makes me worry about my kids touching it. I originally wanted this for a child's room but now I am using it in my office. I wouldn't use this in a child's room due to fear that it could hurt my children. The sides are metal but do not get hot. It gives off a lot of heat, so works very well. The digital display is very nice but a little complicated. I can use it but it wouldn't be good for a child or elderly person to operate. I wish it had a remote control but it doesn't. I think a heating tower would take less floor space. This a great heater if you are looking for something that you can mount to a wall though. Again, it works very well. My dog loves to cuddle up near it. He has enough sense to know not to get to close to it. I'm including a photo of the heater under my desk and my pup curdled up near it, lol.

Update
Updated review:The original did not work. The replacement works fine but is super hot to the touch, not cool touch, as described. It seems way too hot wall mount and would only be usable in an area where there is no possibility of someone touching it. The picture was taken about 3 minutes after turning it on. Other reviews show it getting up to nearly 200 degrees!!!! This product is dangerous and should not be sold.Original review:The control panel lights up, but nothing happens. The instruction book isn't helpful. I've ordered a replacement, so we shall see....

Ok Space Heater
This is a pretty good little heater panel. I got it to use in my bedroom during the colder months and so far it’s worked ok. It doesn’t get very hot but it is more for someone who has a heater already in their home but wants a little extra heat. It’s not going to get your whole room warm though. I ended up not using it anymore by the time it got cold again because it really didn’t do much.
