ASUS VN247H-P 23.6" Full HD 1920x1080 1ms HDMI VGA Back-lit LED Monitor

I am an Amazon Prime member and I purchased this display last Monday and Amazon stated I would receive it by Wednesday evening, however it didn't get delivered until Thursday. I immediately connected it to my Xbox One and began playing. It worked fantastic for the first ~45 minutes, but then I began to have issues where the screen seemed to "freeze" horizontally in thirds. I tried different HDMI cables as well as different consoles and even just connecting it to my PC via the included DVI-HDMI cable, but the issue persisted. I called Asus support and they said that, because it was purchased within the last 30 days, that I had to contact Amazon for assistance. I submitted an online replacement request with Amazon around midnight Thursday evening (Friday morning) and they stated that the replacement would arrive by the following Tuesday. I went to bed and called Amazon support Friday morning and asked if it could be overnighted to me at no additional expense and they pushed that through. I ended up receiving my replacement monitor Saturday afternoon and have had no problems since.Pros: - Easy setup - GREAT picture quality - Auto-signal sensing so the monitor turns on/off automatically when I power my PC or console on - Included a DVI-to-HDMI cable for great PC picture quality - Included a 3.5mm-to-3.5mm audio cableCons: - The original unit I received was defective, but was replaced immediately with free overnight shipping by Amazon.Summary: - This is, in my opinion, the perfect monitor for console gamers because it offers the best response currently time available (1ms) but a higher contrast ratio than any of the BenQ gaming monitors. - I game and work on this monitor for 2-6 hours every day and absolutely love it!

5 stars for quality, Picture, Size, design, and especially price.Quality- Great quality didn't think anything cheap, some have complained about stand and flap on back of screen, both have neither bothered me. The small frame on the screen is amazing planning on buying more of these.Picture- preset out of the box setting not so great had to adjust setting but once done got it down perfect for me.Setting Tips: Contrast 51, saturation 52, color temp user mode, skin natural, smart view offSize- is just great for the price. for gaming for me 24" is just right not to small nor to big to see everything and when put with 3 other monitors just imagine the magic game play :PDesign- looks great on my desk and very minimal connections I don't see any of the cables and buttons are behind the screen away from sight might bother some but it looks great to me.Price- is just great for the size and the quality out of this monitor for games, moves, editing moves, looking at pictures color pops on this monitor just typing on this now color comes out great.

I have had these two monitors for about 6 weeks now and really like how crisp, clear and bright they are. Sitting side by side right out of the box they looked great and there was no difference in color, contrast, etc. between them.I did use Windows to tune them which made them a little better but I also tried to 'tune' them up a little using not a very scientific method of 'screen patterns' which I ended up scraping and reverting to the out of the box configuration. You can Google 'calibrate LED monitor' to see what patterns I tried to use, which worked pretty OK for my older 22" Asus monitors.I did appear to have one dead pixel on one of the monitors but again used Google to see if there was a way to fix this and the first recommended option from a trusted source, gently press the screen where the dead pixel is, fixed it straight away and I have not seen it since.I have zero complaints with this monitor and highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a really nice 1080p monitor. I am only using the on-board graphics on my MSI motherboard and am still impressed with regular use and when gaming but I will follow up on this review when I get a nice graphics card.

Great monitor for the price, the only problem I encountered was the stand and the adjustment buttons. The stand is quite weak, for instance, when cleaning the monitor by simply wiping the screen, it takes two hands because the stand is too weak to steady the monitor. The monitor is very light so the strength of the stand is probably adequate for it's purpose, but a little extra strenght wouldn't hurt'The adjustment buttons are placed in an awkward position, lower right hand side on the back of the monitor. This positioning of the controls and the weakness of the stand make for an interesting experience when adjusting the settings. Thankfully you only have to do this once or twice.The speakers do work and they are better than nothing, but very close to it. The speakers in my iPad Air are so much better than the ones in this monitor that there is really no reason to compare the two. But like I said, better than nothing.The picture is great, once you get it adjusted. I like that it has two hdmi inputs. You can use the same monitor for a PS 4 and a desktop computer and switch between the two. I also liked that the electrical cord is an actual electrical cord and not an AC adapter with a huge brick in the middle that you have to try and hide some place.All in all, a great monitor, not the best, but better than most.

I still have not found settings that are good at all. The text is terrible, if I can't find a good setting for improving the text, I'm going to return the monitors. The stand is not that good. The picture is ok, it is not blowing me away, I was expecting something better. If anyone can suggest some setting to improve the picture and text, that would be great. My other monitor is a Dell S2409W and that monitor blew this one away.Ok, I just found the sharpness setting. I used a setting of about 40 and it cleared the text up.
