Makita BO6040 6" Random Orbit Sander

There is a huge problem with this machine, neither the user manual neither guides on Youtube tell us how to tame this beast. I first used this doomsday device in forced rotation mode and I lost my left arm. Luckily those things grow back and I could give it another try. I of course had to replace the Oak board I was working on too, as I sanded a 4" hole in it.Not sure why you would need a belt sander or any other kind of sander for that matter, from precise work to heavy sanding, this sander does it all. On top of that the result after sanding is just pristine, not a single scuff, unevenness or swirl. Use it as a polishing machine and enjoy the power of restoring your car effortless as it surpasses PorterCable and Meguiars polishing machines by far.I would recommend buying the handle though to avoid losing any arms.

We bought this sander to sand the inside of a log home because our other sanders were so slow. This sander is not slow. In random orbit mode it removes wood fast, but in the forced rotation mode it amazing, if you can hang on to it. It will wear you out till you get used to it, but my wife has been using it part of the time for 6 weeks and loves it too. I would recommend it to anyone needing to do alot of sanding.

This is the workhorse of sanders, if you want to remove material quickly and evenly and then Finnish sand without changing abrasives or machines then this is the unit for you, it's a little pricey and a bit too big for small contours bit it does what it does well

The only problem I have is that the handle is a little big to grip comfortably. Excellent quality otherwise!

I bought two for my cabinet shop.We know how to handle them and have read the instructions.Both have been in for warranty repairs twice.The control ring on the side has failed on each.They are now out of warranty.Problem. Going to call Makita directly and complain.Follow up:Makita fixed them for us, no charge. Had to complain to corporate. They are broken again 5 months later.

This is the absolute KING of orbital sanders. We use this sanders exclusively now when sanding log homes after walnut media blasting. We sand hard for 6-8 hours at a time and this is the only machine on the market that holds up under these brutal conditions. This is one tough machine!

I love it. I also bought the chemical guys 6" buffing pads. It is true. You put this thing on orbit and the halo's and swirl marks literally disappear in a matter of a few short minutes, like three.

Great machine. I had a LOT trouble finding the accessorize do optional handle. In fact I never did find a Makita one

muy buen producto,llevaba un tiempo tras el y aproveché una bajada de precio a 278€ y no me lo pensé.desbasta con facilidad en modo desbaste,eso sí....hay que aguantar con cojones,sino te rebienta el brazo.

makita steht für qualität. nach langem überlegen, fragen und informieren haben wir uns für die makita BO6040 entschieden. eine sehr gute entscheidung. das stufenverstellbare arbeiten ermöglicht viele möglichkeiten der bearbeitung von holz. top - wir empfehlen die makita B6040 gerne weiter.

das ist eine Maschine für gute Zimmermannstätigkeiten und vielseitig und leicht zu handhaben, kann man nur weiterempfehlen,nicht unbedingt für laien

Ich arbeite Beruflich ( Fahrzeugaufbereitung ) sehr oft mit dieser Maschine und die Lebensleistung ist einfach nur Brlliant. Ich habe aber nur 4 Sterne vergeben dadurch das die Maschine auf dauer sehr schwer wird.
