KA-BARKNIVES,INC 3066 Mark 98 Folder, Black, One Size

First let me say I am an avid knife collector I have well over a thousand knives Being a Marine Corp veteran I knew them second I saw this one I had to have it, Its an absolutely beautiful knife. Having used and owned the best Kabar ever made the standard Marine corp Issue, I knew it would be dependable and built well.I received the knife opened the box and found it in perfect condition. The handle Material in G10 is absolutely breath taking the feel of the knife both opened and closed is just amazing. Fit and finish was Perfect scales lined up perfectly Blood channels both lined up perfectly there is no wobble in the blade and no flex in the locking mechanism. the spear point is amazing contoured very well to permit deep penetration. This knife has some weight to it and feels like some of the more expensive knives I own in the $500-$1000+ range.I love that the pocket clip is able to be removed for tip up or down pocket carry. I carry inner pocket and retrieval from my pocket happens in seconds and is smooth a silk. this isn't a deep carry knife. putting my hand in the pocket with the knife clipped in isn't bad at all some knives will absolutely shred your hand up this one is very hand friendly if you need to get into the pocket with the knife clipped in the same pocket. a test of all the hardware proved all the screws were good and secure not a single loose screw.IMO this is a fantastic combat knife, in the hand it feels fantastic easy to control and indexes very well even in my extra large hands, in an inverted fighting grip nothing is digging into your hand the clip is smooth and low profile so it doesn't even feel like its there when the knife is in the hand and I assure you when I grip this knife it will be very difficult to take it from me or have it slip from my hand. This blade is super sharp, but as with any factory made knife there is always room for a much sharper edge. I received nothing from Kabar or the seller for this review this is from me to you when I find an outstanding product I let folks know about it, I have already ordered another one to collect because this knife is to damn nice not to EDC

It's a Ka-Bar! This has to be the sharpest knife out of the box that I've ever bought. Sharp enough to shave with! I feel that it is a bit on the heavy side, definitely a sturdy knife with no wobble in the blade. It locks open without worry of it closing on you, the spring assisted action is stiff so a quick flick of the wrist is needed. The G10 handle looks great, feels strange if your not used to it though. Metal used in the knife is top grade, finish is beautiful, fit in hand is comfortable when using. The only complaint I have is that it is not easy to push the blade lock using just my thumb while holding the knife open, I'm sure the knife needs a break in period for this and easier assisted opening. This is one serious knife for the money! It will even slice a full water bottle in half like they do on Forged in Fire. I highly recommend this knife to anyone needing an affordable EDC quality knife.

Cool knife. Good blade thickness and i like the fullers that make it look like a Kabar. Handle scales fit nicely and action is smooth and quick. The reason I gave it four stars, and the only thing I don't like about it is the crater left in the handle when you change the pocket clip to a different spot. It feels bad because it leaves sharp edges that I guess could be sanded on, but you will still feel it with your fingers. The clip however is stout. All in all I really like it, and being made in China doesn't scare me away. Blade came very sharp with even grinds. Most other big name companies farm things out to China as well.

I bought this to replace my Kershaw knife. I really liked the previous one, but once I held the KABAR, I will not go back. The grip is a composite that has a matte finish, which is just the right fit for my hand and very easy to hold on to. It sort of sticks to my hand without being sticky at all. The blade is about 25% thicker than my previous knife. The blade is a matte coated stainless steel. This is about the only thing I am not crazy about, but after carrying it for over a month, and spending sometime working on the edge (which was sharp out of the box, but every new blade needs shaped), I am impressed by its durability. No scratches on the finish so far... I find this pretty amazing! The length is a good one, and the shape of the blade with the drop point is nice. It is not a spring-assist flip open, but there is enough mass to the blade that once, you flip it out, it only takes a small wrist motion to lock in the blade. Overall, I am very satisfied - even though it is made in China. Not all things made in China are bad (Apple products, anyone?). I think the thing I am most impressed with is how tight the hinge is - blade to handle. There is no side-to-side motion at all. Fits like a fixed blade, but the action is not hindered. Well made.

This is a pretty knife. G10 scales layered in black, OD and FDE. Stone washed blade. Flipper opening is smooth and blade almost drops shut right out of the package. Made in China but it’s a Ka-Bar and the quality is there. Buy it, you won’t regret it.

Was not as good as I expected and grip handle was a bit small for my hand size. Price was ok though.

It's a shame Old Timer didn't follow Ka-Bar lead on imported products. The knife is nicely at this price point. Sharp,well built and seems tough. Time will tell. It's a looker with its funky lines too.

I'm a knife guy, was a cook for years so I know how to sharpen a knife. Out of the box this knife is sharper than anything I own.

Muy buen filo de fabrica, buenos materiales y acabados, el tamaño es exelente para llevar diario. Solo es necesario ajustar de nuevo el tornillo de la hoja para que sea de una apertura más rápida

The media could not be loaded.  El material de la empuñadura tiene un tacto muuuuy bueno, sin contar que el filo con el que llegó de fábrica es el mismo con el que se grabó el video, habrá que hacerle más pruebas para ver que tal lo retiene, pero hasta el momento, una excelente compra

Muy bonita, balanceada, buen acabado de la hoja en color gun metal, filo decente pero acero de calidad media, no recomendada para uso rudo o diario. El acabado de la hoja se raya fácilmente y el filo se pierde de igual forma. Excelente marca pero producto de media gama, en general relación precio-calidad decente.

Está navaja es una excelente herramienta de corte para traer en tu día a día. Es una navaja de dimensiones grandes, tiene un buen agarré al empuñarla, el tacto de las cachas de G10 es muy bueno; llegó muy bien aceitada y con un excelente filo de fabrica.La he usado como mi navaja de porte diario y a respondido muy bien, cortando cartón, papel, cuerda (soga) y diferentes tipos de fibras.
