Hi, yes you will be able to cast the lead with this but not make the moulds.It is considerably safer than the ladle method and with cleaner results as the lead pours from the bottom tap and the scum floats on the top.Kind regardsPaul

It melts lead so as long as you can fit the mould under the outlet to fill then yes.

How do you emptied pot after used

I don't empty the pot. I just put in more lead the next time I want to use it. In addition, I have blocked the tap and removed the piece that opened and closed it and use a ladle to fill the mould. Makes it much easier to use.

does this come with operating inforamtion ?

Does not really need instructions. Plug it in, put the lead in the pot, wait for it to melt, put your mould underneath, and lift the handle to let the molten lead out until your mould is full

Should have bought one of these years ago...

I have been melting lead in a garden shed for years using a blow torch to heat a pouring dish. While it works it is a bit messy and the results vary. I've also been concerned about health issues.My main use is to make fishing weights and I have a selection of Do-It moulds I imported from the states. This lead melting pot makes the whole process just so much easier, cleaner and I feel safer. The results are also much better.The only issue I've had is that the lead I use isn't always clean. So I bought the matching ladle from the same seller. This helped a lot and I managed to scrape off the surface layer of gunge which is produced. This helps prevent the nozzle getting bunged up. On occasion when the nozzle gets blocked I used an L shaped wire to push up into the nozzle (careful you dont get burned) and this free's up the blockage well.A great product and reasonably priced.

Typical lee quality

Owned a few lee products over the years so when I needed a melting pot the answer was obvious, these have been around for a long time so says a lot, easy to use and gets the lead melted very quick.

Brilliant

Brilliant for making leads for fishing.I melt lead in another pan, and skim the slag off, then ladle into this, to produce clean pouring lead.So much quicker and easier, than pouring by hand.

Lee melting pot

This really is the ideal way to melt lead for pouring into moulds. It comes with very clear instructions and is very easy to use. I have found with other Lee products, that their after sales service is excellent. Spare parts are easy to obtain and very reasonably priced.
