For me, these fit better than Sambas. Look sweet. Tag says not intended for high performance athletics.
I got these as a change of pace from my Adidas Sambas. I love Sambas, but they seemed to be getting a little narrow in the little toe area in the past few years.I was not super thrilled with the idea of this brand as I had a pair of Onitsuka's (i think they were the Mexico 66) that fit funny in the past (the back sole dug into my foot even though the size was big enough.)But at the price (currently just a tad less than similar looking Adidias or Pumas), I was willing to try this different style. Upon putting them on, I was pleasantly surprised. They are almost roomy. The leather(?) is not as thick or tight as I would expect and the soles are not as thin as I was dreading. The height of the sides is very low compared to my other shoes. Now, if you are thinking of getting these to wear for actual sports, the tag says that they are "not intended for high performance athletics".I have a pair of Salas for soccer which fit like a glove and have a minimal, yet good sole.If you are just walking around, these Tokuten's are quite nice. I did notice a distinct clomp as a stepped. Not sure if that will go away. But it is not really a huge deal except when I am trying to be super quiet. They didn't even need a break in time. They fit nicely inside and then outside (the true test because they are not returnable anymore) they were like an old pair of comfy shoes. My toes were happy on a long walk. They aren't exactly snug and seem to loosen up a bit.The tongue of these was my biggest issue. It is a little piece of foam. Not my particular style, but as a plus, it doesn't bother you because it is virtually not there.I look forward to testing these out over time. They seem to be on a path to be my favorite shoes.I got the same size as my Adidas Sambas and as the Onitsuka Mexico 66s I had in the past.

Solid shoes. Good walking shoes
Went to Europe for 10 weeks, half the time as a university student who walked everywhere and the other half as a tourist who walked everywhere. These were the only pair of shoes I brought with me. I put in some serious miles on these things in a short period of time and they have held up great. The outsole is very durable and so far there is only mild wear on the heal on mine. The suede leather is good stuff. The only complaint is the tongue is made of a cheap material and kind of bunches down, but that's not a big deal.Real versatile shoes too. I wore these everyday with all sorts of different clothes. I wore them with nice chinos to church, with shorts daily, to the gym with basketball shorts, to the club and to the bars at night. They matched really well. I got the baby blue color and I was skeptical if I was going to regret that decision or not, but they match really well and they have really grown on me. Highly recommend.

Very comfortable
These are good shoes, but of course, I have my reservations.I wear between 8 1/2 to 9 depending on the shoe brand. I bought these in an 8 1/2. They are about right for width, but a little long: my toes have quite a bit of room in the front. These are my first pair of ASICS (onitsuka). Though I might not buy these again, I will give the Mexico or Fencer Tigers a chance on my next pair.Pros:-seems to have solid stitching/construction with high quality materials.-even with minimal arch support, they are exceptionally comfortable.Cons:-a little longer (length) than normal shoes-a little more narrow (width) than normal shoes-with exception to the rest of the shoe, the tongue is made of very cheap material.

Great casusl throwback shoe with the comfort you want
These are exactly what I wanted. They are a nice throwback casual shoe that are really comfortable. The material and stitching look top notch. I have always been a fan of this brand since the purchase of my pair of them. I have gotten quite a few compliments on them since I got them. The original name tagged on them is great, as no one recognizes them. The width is perfect for my feet as is the arch support location. The length is a bit long, I have about a thumbs worth of space in front. Any other size would be cramping my toes or way too long. The shoes are so comfortable, I simply slid them on and left the laces in the tide manner from the factory, perfect.I would certainly get these again once they are worn out or trashed. Of course any shoe of his shade or material are prone to get dirty but that is on the person who uses them, be careful.

I always add a high quality insole insert to make them more comfortable for standing long periods and walking around
I have had several pairs in multiple colors, I always add a high quality insole insert to make them more comfortable for standing long periods and walking around. They have no built in arch support so if that is something you require, the shoe is great allowing you to put the custom insert of your choice in. The shoe is extremely lightweight and once broken in, (about a day of wearing) is so flexible you almost feel as if you are wearing socks. The durability on these is unmatched. I've had my latest pair for almost 4 years and I could probably get another 3-4 out of them, however the white logo on the sides was starting to split and fray so I decided to break in a new pair.

Great and comfortable shoes just order 1/2 size up for woman
I usually wear 7.5 M US for Women's running shoes or sneakers. But they are unisex-adult,so I'm little confused about the size. After check the size chart of the brand's website,I ordered 5 M US because it's 235mm and 37.5 EU,just fit my feet I THINK.Unfortunately, when I put them on my feet, the right one is small(my right foot is the bigger one).It means when I keep still,it fits me,but when I move, there's no room left for my toes. So,order at least 1/2 size up to ensure you can walk, run……by wearing them。TOOO sad ,beacuse I really like them.

I usually wear Mexico 66's and the pliable sole is quiet and comfortable, these are a bit more stiff (as you'd expect with the thicker one piece sole) and have more foot fall noise. The construction is up to par with every other ASICS shoe I've owned, so no issues there. They look great and feel very nice, though a bit on the stiff side which should improve to a degree once they are broken-in.
