Works good, but fragile.
Wasn't good for us :(. The core got a crack, after one week of using it. Luckily we managed to return it back.

Shake, Rattle and Roll
An incredibly powerful and versatile, erm, vibration stick(?) that can be used in isolation or within one of Blackroll’s brilliant rollers or add-ons. Designed to offer a therapeutic massage to most areas of the body, it has six power settings for varying intensity. It can even be used as an intensive barbell, with the extreme vibrations offering their own weight resistance. It’s a brilliant piece of kit. I recommend taking a look at Blackroll’s website or app for a detailed rundown on what this can actually do, it is so adaptable. The downside for me is the sheer power of the thing and how that translates to usage against the floor or wall. It’s like a pneumatic drill on all but the lightest setting. I couldn’t believe how much it vibrated a hardwood floor. Since I tend to do my workouts early in the morning when my family are still asleep it’s not been able to find its way into my regular session. It demands time and space where its noise isn’t a distraction. But of course that’s a personal observation and won’t apply to everyone. If you’re not in a noise sensitive space then it’ll be faultless.

Blackroll Add On Self-Massage Roller Booster.
I'm rather impressed with this; I have a standard Blackroll roller I've been using for a few weeks and I've just been getting used to that, as I hadn't used one before – then this came along. This vibrating booster is a very powerful unit; it came with a Blackroll Slim roller included so it was almost good to go out of the box; the vibrating core unit has a hard, white plastic body containing the rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and is a fairly weighty item in itself. A two-pin mains plug with a USB socket and a short USB to Mini-USB charging cable is included (you will need to have a UK two-pin adapter handy). Following the directions (the package comes with a clearly laid-out instruction book in German and English) the unit takes 7 to 10 hours to charge and will go into standby when the charging is complete. This should provide about 2 hours of use at full intensity.I did say it was powerful; there are 6 green LED lights on the control panel indicating the intensity of the vibration frequency and frankly I don't see me using this at it's highest setting; even at the lowest frequency the unit is alive with power; I have to be considerate of my downstairs neighbour and use this when they are out as the sound of the vibrations are obvious when using the roller for floor exercises. The booklet does have a number of routines enabling use of the booster as a stand-alone training tool. The booster can also be used for pressure-point massage, however a separate set of attachments are apparently available with angle settings and silicone heads, though I've been unable to find this set either on Amazon or on the Blackroll website. So how is it to use?Well, I found the additional option of the booster to be quite therapeutic; I recently injured myself by pulling a muscle and the vibration option has been beneficial in helping me to overcome it's effects; I am intrigued by this elusive booster head set as I think it may be particularly useful for such occurrences. It is – by any standards – an expensive item; it comes with a 2-year warranty and is compatible with other Blackroll rollers; the suggested exercises are good and there's a lot of helpful information about using the device in the booklet and a video on the company website.I don't have anything to compare it to, so potential customers will have to consider it's value according to their own requirements, but I am pleased to have discovered rollers as exercise tools and this booster is a very useful addition to my modest fitness routine.

Good roller for back relief but not suited for everyone
This review is for the medium density variant.Anything that can assist with my back is more than welcome. The Blackroll booster massage roller is intended to help you ease back problems in combination with exercises. The roller comes with a 2-pin euro plug so you''ll need an adaptor or use the charging socket in a bathroom (if you have one). Charging time is around 9 hours with the supplied charger and USB lead. I would recommend downloading the accompanying app (got it on Android but not sure about Apple devices) and viewing the company's own videos regarding the type of exercises that can be employed although please consult your doctor etc if it safe to use the roller in case you have any pre-existing medical conditions. The roller has three settings - even on the lowest setting considerable vibration is emitted. I didn't need to switch it to medium let alone high unless I wanted my fillings to fall out. In practice, it took quite a bit of time becoming accustomed to the roller. After a couple of days, I did find my back regaining some sense of normality but I would say to use this in conjunction with other exercises and medication is applicable.Would I recommend this unit? Firstly it is expensive considering it is a vibrating massage roller. Secondly, it isn't good for all backs. My wife has scoliosis (an abnormal curved spine) and she couldn't get on with it so please seek professional medical advice if you're thinking of buying one of these units.

Great addition to the blackroll range
This is my second blackroll product and lets start by saying I love the blackroll materialThe firmness of the material suits my needs and preference for deep tissue manipulation so I was to say the least pretty excited to try this one out.In the box is a slimline roller, bathroom socket style usb charger plug and the main thing itself, the vibration massager core. Strangely there was not USB cable included but given the number of the type b to micro cables I have this is not a major issueThe massaging core slides with a little resistance through the centre of the roller and you then screw on the cap end to secure it in the rollerTo turn it on you press and hold the +/- buttons together for a short while. Then between 1 to 6 leds light up indicating it is on. These LEDs show the intensity of the massage.Using the roller is just like any other roller and while moving really the vibration for me doesn't really add anything.Where this comes into its own is doing really slow or stop pressure point work such as the base of my neck or lower back. However as good as this is I'm not sure its a worthy upgrade on the basic rollers and so this is why for me it loses a star - especially at the substantial price its listed for
