Best gluten-free substitute for bread ! ! ! And worth every penny!
I am so happy that Amazon got these back in so I could order my second case. I don't eat wheat, it packs the pounds on me around my middle. Most breads have wheat or if they are gluten free, they cost way too much. I have eaten all kinds of rice cakes. I have found that most will break apart if you're spreading a nut butter on them. Not these! Also there are generally 13 rice cakes in a pkg of round regular rice cakes... this package of rice cakes has 27 pieces in each bag. Also, it's much like consuming a slice of bread without the crusts and they are nice and thin so you don't eat too much of a good thing. Try these if you're dissatisfied with regular rice cakes or if you must have gluten free bread!! I don't believe you will be sorry and Amazon's price is so good and FREE shipping... though the box is sort of big, it's pretty light and stores easily away. I live alone and I'm on my next to last pkg from my first case and they are not at all stale. I stored them in my cool dark garage in their original cardboard box. Also they are made in Belgium if that helps anyone. The packaging is air tight and they come 12 pkgs in a box and are in the perfect sized box, and mine arrived without a sign of any damage and I have yet to find even a single cracked rice cake! They are rather neutral in their taste... I make a special butter spread that I like on them real well. You take equal parts of room temperature butter, olive oil and water and blend ingredients until smooth. You can refrigerate this, it sets up but doesn't get hard so it is always spreadable and tastes really good! I use organic butter, olive oil and filtered water, but you don't have. This spread is so good and I believe it's better for you than straight butter. Also, I only use one cake to make a single sided sandwich, as with any rice cake using two as you would two pieces of bread just doesn't seem to work as well. But a single sided sandwhich with these rice cakes is very enjoyable! Hope this helps you decide to try them. Everyone I've given some to, have had only good comments about them.

Words fail me to describe how much I love these
I waited long and with bated breath for Amazon to restock the bulk packaging for this product, as European-style rice cakes are a pretty specific niche, and they can be a bit difficult to find at local stores (not to mention expensive). These are a very different beast from the American-style rice cakes that most people associate with the name--as other reviews suggest, these aren't quite so air-filled or crumbly, having more the density and thickness of a cracker or crisp flatbread. But unlike those, these are gluten-free, oil-free, unsalted, and contain only one ingredient: 100% puffed brown rice. They've got a nice light crunch that makes them good for snacking, but they're a lot healthier than chips or crackers, and the brown rice is definitely preferable to a more processed white rice cake if you're mindful of blood sugar impact. They're also great for the occasional mild tummy upset, since they're light and bland and don't require the preparation of other bland foods. Try them with hummus! My personal favorite: peanut butter, jam, and a sprinkling of chia seeds. Yum!

Kills your wallet, saves your weight
These are the best snack you will find that you can perpetually munch on. As an ice chewer, I like to be chewing or eating on something the majority of the time, which can lead to weight trouble if I choose the wrong thing to do so. These are not only tasty--which is rare in a bland world of rice crackers--but can be munched on without guilt. They are devoid of anything negative really, and my only complaint is the price. I mean they must be making a killing as I am sure this costs them a dollar to make 5 packs. But given how flavorful they are amongst their competitors, I find myself having to return time and again. Anyone who tries one in my house asks me every detail of where to buy them. Even when they get stale, as long as you didnt open them all the way, only the top one gets stale. Even then, the staleness is ALMOST a positive, as it simply becomes harder without losing much flavor at all, if any! I can definitely see someone actually intentionally eating them stale. All in all, a fantastic munching food, but the price hurts. If you're willing to pay the price (literally), these are the best food you will find to continually munch on, especially if you're like me, and is therefore a great dieting or low calorie snack

Tasty Snacks
A friend of mine gave a pack of Suzie (sesame version) and I liked it a lot. I never even heard of Suzie's Thin Cakes so I went on Amazon and read great reviews. Since I devoured the first pack, I decided to order 12 of the Puffed Brown Rice Crackers to deliver to my office. I eat about 3 crackers (54 calories) as a healthy alternative to sugary snacks. It's really good with a thin layer of Almond Butter or just a squeeze of honey. Sometimes I have it for lunch - avocado and tuna salad over the crackers. It feels me up and keeps my waist line under control. I agree with other reviews regarding the packaging - it's hard to not crumble or break the crackers when removing from the package. It's tightly assembled with a flimsy plastic wrap. Overall, great alternative for the 3 o'clock slump. I think I'll order the sesame version next time to mix it up.

Soggy rice crackers
We usually order Lundberg thin stackers and tried these. These were terrible. They were soggy, not crisp and tasted like cardboard. And to top it off can't be returned. I would avoid this product if I were you.

These (brown rice) cakes are addictive!!! If you like salt, you probably won't like these as they are unsalted.
For those who like to have something to snack on but don't want extra salt, these are perfect! I used to eat the thicker kind of rice cakes, but they usually ended up crumbling and pieces would fall everywhere making a mess. These? They are (for me) the perfect size. Just thick enough and just wide enough to make eating easy without making a huge mess. Some people may put toppings on these, but other than eating with beef sticks, my husband and I love eating them just plain out of the package. It's a great snack for traveling! I usually put a package or two in the car for us when we get the munchies. Another tasty way to eat them is with a nitrate-free grass fed beef stick. The slight saltiness of the beef stick offsets the unsalted rice cakes. Delicious and perfect for that mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack!

Very happy with these firm, thin, fresh little crackers!
This product makes me wonder why US rice cakes are just not so good, comparatively. These are very thin and firm, with no crumbly edges; I confess a guilty love of them with Paleo avocado oil mayo and sliced banana. I love them plain as well; and with kippers and mustard... These cost $5.35 per sleeve at my local whole foods co-op, and I used to buy them anyway. I am so happy to have a whole case of these at home, so I won't have to ration them! Lovely with all kinds of toppings, very easy to love since they do not crumble and are fresh-tasting and delicious. They really are a cracker and not the rice cakes in the grocery store. 27 to a sleeve, 12 sleeves to a case; do the math, they are a bargain as well as a treat!

Tough
All the things I like about ricecakes--lightness, tender but crisp to chew, airy--are pretty absent in these ricecakes. They're not any of those things but instead are rather tough. It's hard to imagine a ricecake that's not airy, but try these and you'll see. If you want them to replace a sturdy piece of bread or thick cracker while having whatever good reasons you have to just eat ricecakes (gluten issues, e.g.) these might fit the bill. The reason I keep ordering them is that my husband finds them better than nothing, even though they do not come close to the brand we used to buy at TJ's (that they quit carrying).
