Foundational to adding vocabulary to your playing. Also I like the added audio for each rudiment making sure they are executed correctly. Very good but could have included dotted value notations reason for a four than a five star rating in my opinion. Other than that? Well worth the cost - valuable practice tool!

I'm 67 and have been playing drums since I was 10. I've lost track of how many people I've instructed in drumming. As with building a structure, the most important thing is the foundation. It is the same with drumming. This book provides you with the foundation. Before you ever get behind a kit, buy a practice pad or drum, a pair of sticks, and this book. Learn the rudiments ... ALL OF THEM. Get some professional help so you don't have to unlearn bad habits. Making sacrifices early to lay down a good foundation will pay huge rewards later. This book will help you do that.

Didn't realize that some knowledge of note reading was required but still not that hard to figure out.

This instruction makes learning the essentials relevant and fun! I found myself progressing quicker than I had with “standard” rudiment practices and drills. Great book and audio files! Thank you!
