Lorus Men's Analogue Watch – RW623AX9

Let's be clear, this is primarily an analogue watch but with the added benefit of having digital functionally and for the money it's excellent value and I love it.Don't buy this if you want a digital watch. Buy a digital watch....As an analogue watch, the hands are easy to read against the dark background. When it gets too dark to see the hands just press the light button and read the digital time, simple.The digital displays are relatively dark. You can read them easily in some light conditions but if not you press the light button but I don't need to see them most of the time because I can see the analogue hands most of the time. It would only be an issue if you wanted to use the stopwatch or timer for longer periods I guess. The light only stays on for 3 seconds unless you hold the button down.The light button only brightens the digital characters not the whole watch and the hands but why would I need it to?I imagine the digital display is darker than a normal watch to preserve battery power. It is running a digital display and analogue hands after all.The digital display just extends the usefulness of the watch, using it in the dark for one and also having an alarm, stopwatch and timer plus, of course, the day and date. Things you wouldn't get on most analogue watches.Sure, the hands get in the way of the digital display at times but no so much that I can't tell the time.The digital and analogue times are independent of each other so if you are looking for them to be perfectly matched you will be dissapointed or extremely frustrated having to constantly synchronise them. I am not that bothered. It's an analogue watch with digital capability. I read the hands to tell the time and the digital display, after pressing the light button, if I can't see the hands. It is that basic.It is heavier and larger than smaller watches, but if you don't like large, heavier watches buy a smaller, lighter one. I only noticed how heavy it was when I took it out of the box, I haven't noticed it since.The bracelet rattles a bit but it is easily adjustable and fits my wrist well. I read somewhere that the newer version of this watch has a bracelet that can't be as finely adjusted. I don't know if that's true but that's partly the reason I opted for this watch with this particular bracelet. This bracelet has one indented line down the centre of the bracelet, the newer ones have two lines.So this watch gives me a little of the best of both worlds, analogue and digital.How accurate is it? No more or less than I was expecting really. I wouldn't buy a circa £50 watch if accuracy was my main concern.For the price it's excellent value and it looks good. It's wearing well and am very happy with it.

Arrived damaged and not working. Links for the bracelet were missing. It looked like a second hand watch! Supplier eventually issued full refund.

Nice bulky heavy quality watch that looks and feels durable. Good clear dials and strong control buttons, easy to navigate and use. Light is a little weak but that's not a major concern, ideally digital clock could be better positioned as it gets obstructed from view by analogue arms. I do like this watch her all very pleased.

The watch is heavy on your wrist. The second hand fell off following a accident. Lorus kindly replaced it with new item so I decided to sell it as new and cut my losses. Not easy as the warranty is not valid to any person but myself. The trouble with Lorus is that they sell watches that are pretentious. They are mid priced and should reflect that. The Chronographs do not turn for a start. Keep it till next year then will replace with a quality watch.

Well the watch was running when I received it witch is not good

The LCD readout is not easy to see in daylight even with the light on.This makes it unpleasant to use.Fiddly to try and read the LCD information.The analogue appears ok. I wanted to have an easy to read LCD which this watch does not have.
