This thermometer works well and is perfect for anyone who uses the oven to cook meats often. I enjoy throwing a chicken or tri-tip in the oven with seasonings and being ab;e to check the temperature easily. This thermometer is not only accurate but very long and perfect for grilling or oven baking. It is digital and very easy to use. It is also easy to clean and maintain. Overall I really like it and would even consider it as a nice gift for the cook in the family.

Purchased to replace a name brand unit that failed after a few years.It seems to work well, i don't have another thermometer to test the accuracy, but as far as the meat being cooked, it seems to correlate with the temp that is showing.the item is slim, easy to use and we are generally very happy with it.

I really like this thermometer for using while grilling. The probe is nice and long so you can test the temperature without burning your hands! Its also a very thin probe so you don't make a big hole in the meat for the juices to leak out. The thermometer itself reads very quickly too which is great. I wish that it had a backlight though, its really not readable at night without some help.

The main feature I liked about thsi thermometer is the length of the probe. There are many foldable instant read thermometers, but their probes are fairly short which is sometimes inconvenient. This one works the same way but has a much longer probe. It came in a handy cardboard tube which I was hoping to be able to use for storing it. But the ends are glued on, so I had to cut the tube to get the probe out. So that was a no-go. The only other thing that bothered me was that you have to calibrate this in an ice bath. I've never had to do that with one of these, so that's kinda inconvenient. I don't know how long the calibration will last, but it definitely has to be performed. The thermometer was reading about 3 degrees F too high before I calibrated it.

I calibrated it in ice water with no issues. It recorded 32.0 F for the ice water and 212.0 F or 100.0 C for boiling water, so it is very accurate! The probe tip has a very fine so it should easily slip into the meat to get an accurate temperature measurement. I recommend this product!
