Salter EK2452 Healthy Cooking Air Fryer, 3.2 Litre, 1350 W

Air fry almost anything! It’s easy to use and food tastes nice and crispy! One thing that it wouldn’t seem to do is fry samosas. The outer coating was stiff and hot when cooked but not the same as deep fried. All other items like chips ,meat, precooked things that need a touch of crispy - maybe even cakes (but I haven’t tried this yet) will cook in this! I love mine :) saves a lot of time

I have never used a hot air cooker before so I had no expectations at all.We began with simple chips. The first time we only used air, having forgot the oil. The result was definitely edible. The chips needed salt and ketchup but were good.The next batch were pre-soaked like my mum used to do with her chips. Then a spray of sunflower oil. By making sure we kept pulling out the basket and giving the chips a stir as the instructions suggest we ended up with a much better plate of chips.For me the big test is cooking chicken and or steak. I found it simplest to coat the chicken in olive oil, season and then set to air fry.The result is fine. I tend to eat rather bland food but there are recipe included that are much more interesting and it looks like any recipe can be used in the Air Fry because it is best thought of like a very small oven.There is an automatic cut out if the frying basket is taken out of the machine. It is so much safer than a conventional chip pan of hot cooking oil can ever be.For me the two biggest plus points are the money saved on electricity, instead of a huge oven I only need to switch on this small machine and then there is the safety aspect.I won't be at risk burning myself with this because of the built in safety features. I am clumsy due to illness and in fact rarely cook anymore but the Airfry is going to allow me to prepare some cooked food again.I spect it is obvious to state that it is easy to clean thanks to the non-stick surface.The machine looks good and has a relatively small footprint. The timer takes away all the guesswork. It is a great help to eat a wider variety of food in a healthy way.
