Not Double Edged
I just received this kit and have not yet built it. The most obvious flaw is the lie that this is 'double edged'. The back edge is flat, not sharp. I suppose I could put it on a grinder and make it sharp - to the detriment of whatever quality the steel has. This is an unforgivable flaw.Thankfully, my sample is not stamped 'Pakistan' on the blade, but does have a sticker on the handle indicating that origin. I know that Pakistan has a world-wide reputation for fine steel (not.) Fortunately, after I build this thing it won't be an embarrassment.Why can the holes for the pins not be pre-drilled to fit the pins? I guess it's the same reason you have to put an egg in the cake mix - makes you feel like you're really cooking.On the up side, all the pieces were in the box and the quality of the wood appears good. Nonetheless, I don't think I'll be buying from the Payne bros. again. Don't like being lied to.

a good knife
this knife is a very good one, and it looks very cool. it is fun to make it by cutting the wood, and i think that this is a very good product.

Easy First-time knife making
Nice easy project - if you have the right tools! I thought it came out fantastic and am ready to try something more complex. Instructions were clear and you really only need to add expiry.

This is a nice looking little knife
This is a nice looking little knife. The blade is etched "Pakistan" which renders it useless for my purpose- but if you don't mind that I'm sure it would be a great project.
