Q: Can u tune to e standard on this guitar or is the scale length to long and if so with waht string gauge

You can tune to standard but those two lower string will be F# and B which for the octaves they are the std tuning notes. then from there E,A,D etc.

Q: Will a symour Duncan 8 string black winter pickup fit in tho guitar?

Yes, i have ibanez rg8 fm, and mounting seymour duncan, is exactly the position, and the sound is amazing

Q: What would be a good combo amp (tube or solid state) to go with this guitar, considering the lowest frequencies could blow a regular amp speaker.

It's up to you with what sound you want. I just a tube Ampgeg Reverbrocket, great for jazz or with a distortion works good. I don't think the low frequancies of the guitar wouldnt do any damage to the speakers, I believe it is more the level of output from the amp and going through speakers would do damage, like 150 watts through a speaker rated at 30watts. There is plenty of low end from this guitar, I was going to run both a guitar amp and a bass amp with this guitar but no need for that. Also if you're playing with a bassist, be careful with frequancies and bumbling the bass and the 8's low end. So maybe less low end may be good.
