Hamilton Beach 31700 Pizza Maker, 12 Inch Pizza Cooker, Red

This appliance is wonderful. We use it 3-5 days a week. My son cooks his pizza to perfection, my daughter uses it to make nachos, and hubby has used it to make nachos, grilled cheese sandwiches (and other grilled sandwiches), reheat take out, and whatever else he can think of. I bought mainly for the kids to be able to heat frozen pizzas in the summer for lunch, but my family uses it more for making other things besides pizza. It only takes minutes and we don't have to wait for the oven to heat up. If you are buying it exclusively for pizza then have no fear. We have made frozen pizza, take and bake pizza, and home made pizza all with great results. I also like that when the timer goes off so does the heat, so if you are out of the room or otherwise distracted your food will not burn. The heat plate is easy to clean, however when we make anything besides pizza or sandwiches we do line it with foil. I have owned it for 5 1/2 months with out any problems. To tell the truth if it went belly up tomorrow I would pay the money to get a new one. My kids are teenagers, however I think a child as young as 7 or 8 could use with little training. My daughter had a group of friends over last week and she made a bunch of pizza rolls, it took half the time of cooking in the oven and were more crispy on the outside than if heated in the microwave. I really like the red color and the machine heats food from the top and bottom, but the top plate does not actually touch the food. I paid around $50.00, well worth the price.

I have Parkinsons and using a regular oven even a microwave/counter top oven is impossible. This is great I can put it right on the counter and when pizza is done just slide it off onto the cutting board. Then stand it up to cool. I was looking at that other brand that has the pizza exposed while cooking, but thought having the pizza covered is a lot smarter and cooking element shuts off like a conventional oven when the temperature is reached. Seems more economical and energy efficient this way. The window in the top is nice and doesn't steam up. One suggestion might be to add a small fan to circulate the hot air similar to a convection oven. I'd like to offer an idea to the person who said the center of pizza doesn't get done. That is to leave the pizza in after cooking is completed similar to a microwave. I do this for a minute and it helps.

This pizza maker heats up really well and works great for making a quick, homemade pizza — perfect for a movie night at home. No, no, no!!! The description does not do this Pizza Maker any justice, at least in my book anyhow!!! This has got to be one of the very best items I have ever ordered!!! I originally ordered this, so that we could make the frozen pizzas that we both love, in the summertime when it's hot and you don't want to turn on the oven or even the counter top oven to make a pizza. I looked over and over and compared the pizza makers here on amazon and finally decided on this one for a few reasons, one: it's closed in and there would be no heat released into the open air like some other pizza cookers that I've seen on here, (it does have air vent holes in it though), two: there is no preheating required to use it, even with frozen pizzas, three: it makes much more then just pizzas, it also can cook, *Bagel Bites, (Mini Bagels), *Breadsticks, Cheese Bread and *Garlic Bread Slices, *Cheese Sticks, *Chicken Strips, *Egg Rolls, *Fish Sticks, breaded, *Hot Pockets Brand Sandwiches, *Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers, breaded, *Onion Rings, breaded, *Pizza Rolls Brand Pizza Snacks, *Pigs in a Blanket, *Pretzels & *Bite-Size Pretzel Hot Dogs!! (*taken out of the baking chart in the Pizza Maker booklet, page 6). If you're in the market for a Pizza Maker, I would most certainly recommend this one for anyone and everyone looking, it's so easy, even my husband can now make pizzas!!

First of all I do have this same pizza maker that was given to me as a gift a while back that was bought at a store..I loved it so much I looked for it on Amazon and so happy when I found it...So order it and it arrives in the original manufactures box the shipping label pasted right on it..no additional packaging just look what Chrissy bought! So when I went to use it I saw small dent at the bottom of the pan where the heat element is I thot ok no big deal I put the pizza on the rotating pan set the timer I then started to hear a scraping noise I saw the rotating pan scraping the top of the lid where the red paint is and the rotating pan was jumping around the pizza maker shut off and no ding!! I lifted the lid and red scraped paint was all over the edges of my pizza my husband looked at and said the rotating brackets are bent its sitting lopsided !!!! pizza was ruined and had to throw it away very upset!!!!! I would return this but the original box ( the only box) has already been thrown away! it was like this had been returned by someone else and this company just sent it out to me used and broken! not sure about this but very upset about the way it was sent out to me and how it did not work properly!

This thing is more than just a pizza maker. Its literally a compact oven. Bakes perfect cookies, biscuits, fries, fish sticks. Especially useful if you live in a mobile home in the summertime--it gets so hot in Florida you don't dare make anything in a conventional oven. This solves the problem. Also the window on top will assure you of coming out with perfect cookies every time. I bought a separate non stick 12 inch pizza pan from Walmart so that I could rotate batches of cookies. The lip was a little too wide to fit in the cooker--no problem, I cut off the lip with an electric jigsaw with metal cutting blade. Now I can make 3 dozen cookies in just over an hour.

Outstanding machine. We make everything from Pizza, egg rolls, quesadillas, biscuits, I even use it to roast veggies like okra, broccoli, carrots. We don't fry anything anymore to cut down on fat so this machine is great for anything you use to fry in a pan or deep fry. It does tater tots quick and easy ( my girls like the tots) Fish comes out perfect as well. I Can't say enough about this unit. The timer is one of the main reasons I bought it. My girls can make pizza without turning on the oven and me having to worry if they turned it off. Even young ones can slide a pizza or bagel bits in and set the timer. It will turn itself off and they can get to the food whenever they want. Again excellent product. Would buy over and over

Nice way to cook the pizza. I got tired of waiting for the oven and the struggle of cooking 2 pizzas at once. My only complaints are the tray could fit in there a little better, it is a tad awkward until you get used to it; and the pizza might take a little longer than in the oven, but the trade off is no preheating time and no chance of burning. I went and ordered a 2nd one. I also use it to cook chicken patties. Update: Both pizza makers have quit after a year and will not rotate or heat up. Good pizza maker, but not sure if I will get a new one. I did try to buy another one from Amazon, but when I plugged it in smoke came out of it and produced a foul smell, so it went back to Amazon. I contacted Hamilton Beach and they honored the limited warranty on the one that was still under warranty and offered a discount on the other one, so I was able to get both replaced, but one had a funny smell when I pulled it out of the box and smoke came out of it when I plugged it in. Fortunately Hamilton Beach offered to replace that one at no cost to me. Update 2: Beware smoking appliance! Each replacement Hamilton Beach has sent me produces smoke when plugged in and heated up. They asked to send it back for a quality evaluation which they never gave the results for until I asked and then said that the appliance worked as designed. It's designed to produce smoke? But they were happy to replace the appliance again after I cover the shipping charge.

You cannot beat Amazon shipping...almost at the door before the computer was shut down. This is a great product and very versatile. Pizza was hot and ready in about 20 minutes with a number of our own garnishes added. Did a great job on pizza pops and frozen egg roles. It is worth the extra money to have a view of the pizza cooking...also the timer and auto shut off. Just make sure you purchase 12 inch round frozen pizza's as square ones are too big. Load them up and enjoy.

funciona mucho mejor un hornito electrico, ya que puedes controlar completamente la barra de hierro al rojo vivo superior para dar un terminado mucho mas tostado si se desea. la maquina solo calienta a cierta temperatura y derrite la pizza, pero si buscas un acabado tostadito en la parte inferior o superior de la pizza, no será posible, solo dejara pizza suave, o aguada(no que sea malo) pero a los que les gusta un poco de crunch los desilusionara
