Excellent choice
My wife was only interested in buying a buffet warmer, but after reviewing other products I found this multi purpose roaster and warmer. We have haven't used the warmer yet BUT the roaster function REALLY WORKS--I've enjoyed baked chicken with fresh vegetables ( you have to cook the chicken partially first, then add the vegetables later so they're not overcooked ) . And you have to experiment with the temperatures used, the roaster cookbook uses lower temperatures but sometimes a higher temperature is warranted. I never thought I could enjoy muffins as much as I do, this roaster BAKES muffins and they're MOIST not dry.And it does brown meat and breads -- this is dependent upon the temperature and the cooking time, unfortunately you have to experiment and adjust the variables on a few occasions until you get the hang of it ie temp / time. Also depending upon what you're cooking --adding a nonstick spray before cooking can ease cleanup later. The number one thing is --you have to preheat the roaster for your desired cooking temperature. In the summer when it's hotter I don't have to worry about adding heat to the kitchen the way an oven would. The only thing I wish this roaster had is a timer.I wholeheartedly recommend this roaster warmer,I wish we had purchased this sooner.

I wish I had purchased this years ago!
I was very impressed when I received this roaster oven. I wish I had purchased it years ago!My daughter and I love making stews, soups and roasts. Normally, we use slow cookers. We have 2 slow cookers - a 7 quart and a 6 quart. Usually we have both of them going at once to make our stews. They take up so much counter space, you can't be certain of the consistency of the stews, they finish cooking at different times regardless of how carefully we watch them, and the slow cookers are HEAVY. Being so heavy, the slow cookers are difficult for me to manage since I'm disabled. Now, we have a far more versatile cooker that can roast, slow cook our stews, and BAKE! It also comes with a roasting rack, which sure comes in handy to both cook the roast evenly and to remove it from the pot. And, the big bonus is the buffet server with the 3 removable pans. It's made of porcelain coated light-weight steel, which makes it far easier to handle. Here's a run-down on the features and my opinions:- Large capacity - 18 quart roaster holds more than I ever could have cooked in 2 slow cookers! I love it!- Versatile - will roast, bake, slow cook soups and stews, steam veggies, and keep buffet foods warm.- Light-weight removable roasting pan - high quality steel that is porcelain enamel coated like a regular oven, easier to handle, cooks foods evenly, a snap to clean up.- High-domed lid with steam vents - helps to efficiently steam meats and veggies and avoid accidental boil-overs.- Roasting pan edges nicely fit over the cooker's edges so that any drips will not leak into the cooker. I love this feature. (I'm so tired of drips getting beneath a slow cooker's ceramic pan)- Handy lid holder on each of the handles. I'm so glad I no longer have to worry about where I'm going to sit a cooker's lid down when checking my stews.- Temperature settings are in degrees, so I can cook at the precise temperature I choose. Unlike the slow cooker's low, medium and high settings, I will now have better control of how much heat is applied to the food. This roaster is also, in my opinion, quite attractive. Just a simple no-frills style in white, but it looks really nice in my kitchen. I was going to make room for it in my pantry, but after receiving it, I decided to keep it out on the countertop! I'm sure we're going to be using it a lot anyway, so it will be better to keep it handy within easy reach.

Nice Roaster/Buffet!
I have been very pleased with my roaster/buffet. I originally bought it because I didn't have a turkey pan that was big enough for my turkey and small enough for my wall oven. It was a great purchase! It cooked my turkey fast (in fact it was done much faster than I thought it would be done....I will take that into consideration the next time I cook my turkey) The buffet worked well, too. I used it for a party and stocked it with meatballs, taquitos, and corn dog bites. I am most pleased. It is probably something I will only use a few times a year since our children are grown and moved out, but I am quite pleased with my purchase.

Exactly what I needed
I bought this electric roaster specifically for cooking the Thanksgiving turkey, hoping to clear room in my oven for all the other dishes. I ran a pre-Holiday test today, roasting a 6-lb whole chicken according to the simple instructions. It turned out perfect within 1-1/2 hours, with crispy skin and very moist meat. The cleanup only required a cloth and dish soap. I think this roaster oven is a fine value and that I will use it frequently, due to simplicity and ease of clean up, in addition to good results. I will find the buffet server function useful, also.

It's ok...
I bought this for a big party we were having. It shipped quickly, free shipping and was a reasonable price. For the party I used it for baked beans and it worked great. However, I have done 3 meats in it and they have all come out like shoe leather. With all 3 I followed the recipe book. I made corned beef, which the recipe book gave instructions for an hour to be done. Anyone who has ever cooked a corned beef knows it cannot be done in an hour. It ended up taking 12 hours to cook it to get to a tender state. The ribs never did get tender. The pork loin we did today and we finally took it out, wrapped it in tinfoil and put it on the grill for a few hours to get tender.
