Just What I was Looking For
After reading the reviews, I was a little hesitant to order this desk, especially since the white one cost more than the black, but I'm really glad I bought it. This little desk was so easy to put together. It was, however, missing one of the holes in the metal side to screw the back piece on. The hole was just not punched all the way through, so with an awl and a hammer, it was easy to punch out. The directions were easy to follow and I put it together in just under 30 minutes by myself and I have back and neck issues! The color white is so nice, it's a soft white with wood grain in the MDF to make it look like real oak. Once together, this desk is really sturdy. I have had no issues with it shaking or vibrating and I have a printer on the bottom. Others have mentioned that the keyboard tray doesn't go in and out smoothly, and I have to agree with that, but I think over time it will loosen up. My compact keyboard and mouse fit on the tray just fine, and although the tray doesn't come all the way out, it's perfectly fine for me as I have full access to my keyboard. I was replacing a much larger desk and was afraid this wouldn't be big enough, but it has so much room I have a 19 inch monitor and a desktop accessory organizer on the top with enough room to have a large writing surface. The bottom holds my large printer and compact trash can. Plenty of room for everything! Couldn't be more pleased. Highly recommend.

The desk is perfect for my guest room
The desk arrived yesterday, I took out all the pieces and began to follow the directions. The assembly followed exactly as described, and in sequence, so you really cannot make a mistake. Each screw / bolt was in a pack, and labeled - made it very easy. I assembled it in less than 30 minutes. I kept thinking how smart they were to show the sequence, and be very clear on what to assemble where. I have assembled furniture before, and often times it is a hot mess, because they don't have the correct instruction, and details. This desk has the information. I am thrilled at it's size, and the little shelf on the bottom - for stability - I put my feet on. the desk chair does not slide under the desk, it sits askew, but this is fine, and the price was right. The Cherry Color isn't too RED, more wood toned, and I like that.

For the price, a small but excellent computer desk.
I decided I wanted to move my PC to the livingroom, but there is VERY little space there for another piece of furniture. I decided that, if I could find a desk that would fit in the 29" space along the first section of my breakfast bar, I'd do it. This desk came up in my search and, sure enough, it fits in that space!Assembly was a snap. I assembled the desk by myself in maybe 30 minutes. The instructions were clear (and I've had some humdingers this past year, so it was a blessing to have clear, simple instructions for a change). The only downside is that every screw but the 4 used for the keyboard tray use one of those provided hex wrenches, or whatever you call them (see the hardware shot in my video). It makes assembly SO much slower than being able to use a power screwdriver.Another thing I really liked about the assembly process is that the screws tightened very well and the finished desk is quite sturdy! I have not found this to be true of some other products that were inexpensive, so that was a bonus! There is one important wrinkle to the assembly: if you assemble the keyboard tray as instructed, you will NOT be able to pull the tray out all the way and therefore will NOT have full view of your keyboard. I was alerted to this in the reviews, so I knew to watch out for it. Sure enough, when I was preparing to complete assembly by adding 4 small screws to hold in the keyboard tray, I quickly saw that this was not going to be acceptable for me. Since the tray fits quite security into the sliding mechanism, and since my keyboard tray is wireless and lightweight, I decided to just place the tray in the sliding mechanism and see if I could get away with NO screws. I'm not going to say this is the solution for EVERYONE, but it has worked very well for me. I haven't had a single problem thus far (almost 2 weeks). The other option I considered was to drill new holes in the tray that would allow it to pull out further than the original holes. If I have to, I'll do that. However, the tray appears to be made of some sort of composite and I know from experience that can be tough to drill through precisely, at least for me as I don't have a great deal of upper body strength or grip strength when using a drill.Speaking of the keyboard tray, I found it JUST big enough to house both my wireless keyboard and my wireless mouse. There isn't a lot room for the mouse to roam, but it has been adequate for me thus far. Also, you probably won't be able to fit a standard mouse pad in there. As for the desk size, well, it is small...much smaller than I'm used to...but I'm making it work. I have a Dell all-in-one PC where the hard drive and everything is housed inside the monitor. The monitor takes up three-quarters of the width of the desk's top. I was just barely able to squeeze in a little mail organizer next to the monitor where I keep my bills and such. In front of the monitor, I have room for a desk calendar, my phone, a notepad, a pencil cup and my water bottle.I really am enjoying my new desk. I took off three quarters of a star for the keyboard tray not pulling all the way out when installed by the directions, because that can make a HUGE difference in how one might enjoy (or not enjoy) this desk.4.25 stars.

Great value, work perfectly for my needs....
In my opinion this desk is a great value. I paid about $40 for it and it arrived quickly. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the manufacturer boxed desk was shipped within an outer shipping box.The desk is very easy to put together, the instructions are reasonably clear and easy to understand. However I found that when it came to attaching the desk top that it was much easier to place the top on the floor along it's long edge and lay the partially completed desk on the floor resting on its back. The same was true for the bottom most shelf.Overall I'm very pleased with the overall size of this desk. I needed to fit into a small space, and be sturdy enough for a printer and scanner to be placed on the desk top. The fit and finish of the work surfaces and metal frame are perfect. I did not see any scratches or defects.Since I'm using it for a printer and scanner stand I don't have much need for the slide-out keyboard tray. However I can say that if you're using the desk for a desktop PC (or laptop) that the keyboard tray is sufficient for a keyboard but I don't recommend it for a laptop. If I ever need another small, sturdy, well constructed, relatively well constructed desk I would purchase this one again.

Space Saver, But Not for the Extreme Gamer
Overall, I adore this desk. I ordered two to replace the Balt LX dual desk, just so I could put my and my boyfriend's gaming systems on separate wall outlets to lighten the electrical load.I do not agree with other reviewers that you need the bottom shelf as a footrest. I find that it's small enough to where you are not reaching uncomfortably if your chair is at the proper height.I am not using the keyboard tray (see images) for keyboard/mouse because...the simply truth is that my gaming keyboards are too tall for the space provided in the tray area. Also, it is not nearly wide enough for a mechanical gaming keyboard and a hard mat. The upside is that the surface of the tabletop seems to be incredibly accurate and responsive with my Razer Naga mice. For my boyfriend's setup, his midsized homebuilt tower fits perfectly on the bottom shelf. This tower is your average larger size of most bought computers today, so you shouldn't have a problem there. He's using a RipJawz mechanical keyboard which was too tall and wide for the tray in combination with the mouse, so that is placed on top of the desk. His subwoofer also manages to fit on the bottom shelf. Our monitors are both compact ASUS 1ms HDMI monitors and we have them sitting on glass Uboards. These fit perfectly and provide a little bit of additional storage space under the monitor. His L/R speakers had nowhere to sit on the desktop, except behind the monitor. Not the greatest place for sound, but it's good until we can build shelving.Now....MY computer...please see images (it's the white computer tower).Someone had mentioned they had enough space for their full size tower and showed a picture.Theirs was a mid-size. THIS computer is a full size tower, and as you can see....it is practically the height of the entire desk and twice as deep. Obviously, putting this on the bottom shelf was a no-go, so I placed my 3-in-1 HP printer on the bottom shelf. The desk is so sturdy, my monitor doesn't even rattle when I'm printing, and I'm quite pleased with that.My keyboard is a MadCatz STRIKE TE mechanical gaming keyboard, which is a little less wide than the RipJawz, but taller...so it didn't fit in the keyboard tray area....howeve, I had enough space to work my Razer Vespula mouse mat on there....with difficulty. The keyboard is partially on the mat. I would have loved to have about four more inches of width on the whole desktop, but I wasn't even expecting this to work. :) Not looking for miracles, just space saving options and this fit the bill.As you can see, my subwoofer was quite a bit larger too and that had to go on the side....which ended up serving as a shelf for my headsets.I ended up using the keyboard tray as a tuckaway for my USB Blu-ray, SD drive, and external SSD.So, what's the final say? It's a preference. My Balt LX had more than enough room for all my options and extras. But I really needed the space in the room.If you have an extreme gaming system and just want a desk, but are not overly concerned about space....look elsewhere. If you're an average gamer in a college dorm, living with others, looking for something you can move around with ease or just need space....this is perfect. If you're a teacher who needs multiple desks for your students in a computer lab or elsewhere, you will LOVE these.Overall, recommended. But gamers use caution if you're a peripheral junky like me. Use my photos as reference to see which type of gamer you are.

nice computer desk
I have gotten along with using a tray table for over five years with my laptop. I have been happy with that until I adopted a kitten and she thought that the computer was hers. I have gone through three power cords and after the last purchase I knew the tray table was not an option.I spent three days trying to figure out what one to get. I read every one of the reviews on this model and four others. The selling point for me on this one, the size. I wanted one that did not take up much space. I wanted to have this in my small bedroom where space is at a premium. The instructions that came with this are good and I am thankful that I read them three times before getting this started ( while trying to assemble this on my living room floor, busy with getting the legs put on the small back board I heard some paper being chewed. I was hoping it was not the instructions but could not let go and see. Sure enough the kitten got them and chewed them up into small strips). With the instructions gone the only part that I was not sure of was the pull out keyboard (flat part in the back or front). I put the flat part on the back and the rounded part towards me. It moves freely and has a squeak sound when pulling it in or out. This seems like it is made good and sturdy, I have some heavy stuff placed on the bottom shelf and no signs of stress. I inspected all the parts and each one was in perfect shape. If I can find room for one more I will purchase another for the hubby.I have room for the laptop and my coffee and a pencil holder with room to spare on the top. It is a great computer desk and is serving its purpose very well .I am using a wooden chair that I had my dad saw the legs off for me five years ago and fits perfect ( I needed a chair that my feet could touch the floor, I am short ).

It's Easy to Put Together if !
It should have been easy to put together as others had mentioned. Everything was labeled correctly. The package was easy to open and we love the Two Day Amazon Prime Delivery. However, although the Back Board #3 and the bottom shelf illustrated holes in the sides for the screws, they were covered by the black material that surrounds the board. I was prepared to make some changes myself since I don't like to return items. After thinking about the problem for awhile, I decided to try to tap the board by using a small drill bit. I aligned the board prior to drilling through the open hole in the frame. I got lucky! The drill bit punctured the black covering on one of the two places I tried. I finally realized the white plastic screws on the top of the shelf board are in the area where the long screws go through the metal frame and line up at this point. Once I broke through, I did the remaining seven holes in the same way and used the provided Allen wrench to tighten the screws..Although some reviewers thought the keyboard drawer should have slid out more, the keyboard we have just does just make it okay. I put the monitor and mouse on the top. The keyboard is on the slide out tray. By the way, these screw holes were clearly visible for this part. Our old, large desktop computer is on the floor next to this compact desk. If it were put on the shelf our desktop computer would hang over because it is two inches larger than the shelf plus the connecting cables that stick out. The shelf is about 15" which may be given in the description with the dimensions for this desk. Our printer fits perfectly on the bottom shelf. Small computer desks are hard to find so this met our needs.

Small and no leg room but perfect for me.
This is exactly what I wanted. I needed a small desk for my computer and printer, since I have a writing desk for my other needs. I don't use the computer for too many hours and I don't need extra leg room because of how I use so it works well dor me. Cute, strong, easy to assemble. J like that it's very compact yet it has space for all I need. I put the computer and a big printer in the bottom. The table has my monitor and speakers. The pull out does not come out super far but I have the keyboard and mouse with pad and works fine for me. If you need more space the table actually can fit the keyboard and mouse and the pull out be used for papers or a notepad.
