DanceDanceRevolution Hottest Party 3-Software Only - Nintendo Wii

This is my first DDR game. We attempted to buy one a couple of years ago and kept getting a bad pad. When I saw this deal on Amazon to get the game and the pad for only $20 I couldn't pass it up and I'm so happy I didn't.1. You can use this game with the Wii Fit board, and just bump your hips in the right direction and shake the hand controllers, or you can use the dance pad.2. I love the workout modes. This is why I got this game. Really the only games we've played on the Wii are the Wii Fit games and we love those too, this is a great addition.3. You can get a workout without feeling like you are working out. I'm still getting the hang of the game and have it set on Beginner mode and I'm just keeping up. It's enough of a challenge to be enjoyable but I know I still have plenty of room to progress (probably our biggest complaint about the Wii Fit games, not enough progression).I do wish we could download more songs directly to the game, although it does evidently include the songs from HDP 1 & 2 (not sure if I've figured out how to unlock them or not). All in all I'm having a blast with it.

I would rate this game a five, but I haven't been able to do it without any backup dancers. Modesty is an issue to me, so I wish I could dictate how modest the backup dancers are like I can the main dancer. I can't. The outfits are random, and as often as not, they are the ones that show midriffs. I wish I could just get rid of the backup dancers, but if there is a way to do it, I haven't been able to figure it out.That aside, this game is really fun, and I enjoy burning calories this way.

This ddr game is super fun. It is our new favourite and we have all 3. The songs are fun and the music videos are cool.

If you are used to the regular wii DDR game then this game is going to seem too easy for you. I had just gotten used to the symbols on the other game and accustomed to multi-tasking with my arms and legs but you don't have to work so hard with this game. I also found it a little confusing that the symbols are basically the same when they want you to use your hands as when they want you to use your legs and the dancers on the screen don't appear to be doing the moves that the player needs to do to get points. I'm sure this game wouldnt be so disappointing if I hadn't already had expectations based on regual DDR.

It does not register the arm movements very well, DDR Wii is better at that. The songs awkwardly cut off part way through. The music video are pretty amusing I guess. The song are average, but there is a lot of variety. Using Miis as back-up dancers is hilarious.

Fun game but it doesn't work well unless on a hard surface. Don't try to use it on carpet. Also know that you will need to purchase this extra item to be able to play the game.

Of the Hottest Dance Party DDR Games I’ve played, this is the best. Natural and intuitive with the best song list. They dropped a lot of the gimmicks, which was fine with me. I wasn’t able to get the Wii Fit board to work with it, but the pad does.
