Very good for the price, very good tasting candy

I grew up buying this candy from our local ice cream man in San Diego. Now, 30 years later, on the opposite coast, my children also enjoy this candy. These truly are minis, but for the amount and variety you get the price is fine. I’ve bought this more than once already and I’m sure I’ll buy it again and again.

They arrived a little sticky but they are amazing. The mini sizes are perfect for a little treat on the go! Great little Easter basket, party favors or stocking stuffer

Terrible. Most of them were broken/exploded. The few that were left were awful.

Pelon Pelo Rico: A Unique Candy Experience Well, here’s a new experience for me, made by the Hershey Company. The packaging is as unique as the flavors. It’s like a push-pop bottle that squeezes out candy with a gritty yet runny fruit roll-up consistency through a grid, creating noodle-like strands. Figuring out how to get the candy out took me a minute—the cap and bottle are the same color, and there are no instructions indicating you need to remove the cap first. Once the cap is off, you press the white bottom part of the container into the colored section. This candy isn’t exactly kid-friendly. It takes some muscle to push the candy out. Especially on this chilly first day of winter, I imagine kids might struggle and end up making a sticky mess. The mini size is great for portion control, but definitely not for sharing. Licking the grid at the top of the container to get the candy makes sharing awkward—worse than sharing a lollipop! Plus, when you’re done, the leftover packaging will leave your space looking like the aftermath of a Fourth of July party. As for the flavors, they’re bold, tangy, and spicy, just like the packaging promises: Watermelon: Sweet and “watermelony” with a tart kick. Mango: A blend of tamarind sweetness and tangy notes. Chamoy: Tamarind-based, tart, tangy, and spicy all in one bite. Overall, Pelon Pelo Rico is spicy and unique candy experience. Just be ready to put in a little effort to enjoy it!

I had never tried anything like this before, but I do not like them at all. The consistency, pushing it out, the stickiness, the flavor, the texture... The just kind of grossed me out. One of my kids likes the mango, the other liked watermelon, but they lost interest pretty quickly as they were having a tough time getting the candy to come out. I know these are popular but they are not for us.
