Perfect lights for Christmas
These are the perfect lights for the holidays! It comes with 2 extra bulbs so you can easily replace dead bulbs with ease. Additionally, the string of lights is much longer than I thought. You can easily have it go from the outlet to the other end of the room. I also love the colors of the bulbs once it's plugged in. There were a few Christmas lights I saw online that consist of opaque bulbs, but these transparent bulbs allow for the greatest luminence of light.

Christmas lights
Old fashioned Christmas lights is what I love. Reminds me of childhood. Great quality. The colors are beautiful not expensive at all. I love how they light up. The length is just perfect.

Shatterproof = plastic. I knew from the beginning that these would be plastic bulbs...
Shatterproof = plastic. I knew from the beginning that these would be plastic bulbs... and at first glance I was impressed. Examining the plastic outer shell of the bulbs, I could see they were very slightly smaller than traditional glass ones... but they had a good appearance. When lit, however, the plastic is a bit thin and it's easy to see the single LED "filament" inside and its support pieces. The plastic is a bit translucent I guess (when bright light is showing through). This kinda ruins the effect of an LED equivalent to C7 glass bulbs... it's close, but not great. The result is that when viewed from the side, the "hot spot" of the illumination barely has any color at all... it's almost white. You can still see that the color of the bulb, but the brightest center spot (near the LED itself) has almost no color. (In contrast to painted glass bulbs, the color is pure and evenly distributed.)But, I'll still give these four stars. I won't use them on my traditional/vintage indoor tree lights (they don't "blend" well with my existing light sets on the same tree) but I'll get some use from as outdoor lights to illuminate around the door or under the eave. They'll look better from a distance. --- So... it's four stars from me. Just adjust your expectations and understand what you're getting.

Equal to old bulbs see side by side comparison.
Review of C7 LED retrofit bulbs in multi color, clear finish.Since these are replacements for the old incandescent bulbs, I decided the best way to evaluate them would be to do a side by side comparison with the old bulbs. On first look the unlit bulbs have a pale appearance but that's just the plastic cover. Once lit up the bulbs really shine.(cue the groans) The first photo shows the LED bulbs at the bottom and the old style bulbs at the top. This ensures that both types are photographed under the same conditions.Comparing the bulbs energy use there is no contest. The LED bulbs use 0.6 watts each versus 5 watts each for the old ones. That's only 12 % the power!Comparing the brightness, the red, pink, and yellow LED were equal to the incandescent while the green and blue were brighter!Comparing the color or hue there were slight differences. The red, green, and blue were the same hue while the LED yellow is a golden/yellow while the incandescent is orange. The LED pink is a true pink while the old bulb is actually purple.I did notice an interesting feature of these bulbs, the LED strip inside is a dedicated color for each bulb. A red strip for the red bulb, a green strip for the green bulb, a blue strip for the blue bulb, and so on. That would explain the rich colors. The second photo shows all LED bulbs in an old candelabra and a light string. I also tried operating these bulbs on a dimmer switch and had no problems. Also, they will work in modern and antique strings. I only had a problem with one bulb not lighting, but that was the fault of the socket. If a bulb does not light try it in another socket - that is standard troubleshooting practice! To sum up if you are a traditionalist you will not be disappointed.

great color and transparency - super low current requirement
I love the translucent look of these bulbs. They are not too bright that they glare in your face like the old incandescent C7 bulbs. The box says these draw 0.6 watts, bu my meter shows on 0.55 so you can pack a ton of bulbs on one string. Be careful oping the box though because it really doesn't hold together too well and 2 bulbs hit the floor - but neither was damaged. I guess that is a tribute to how tough these are. Considering that they are supposed to last 15,000 hours, they are a great deal. Considering that my display is on for about 42 days a year for about 8 hours a day, these should last me 44 years! It would be nice if these were offered in larger packs with more colors.

A very nice set of beautiful replacement bulbs
This is a very nice set of C7 sized replacement bulbs. They are clear colored bulbs with a single LED filament that is fairly bright but not super bright. I am glad they are not blinding bright bulbs, otherwise they would not match the set that some of these are going onto.I could have purchased a set of five replacement bulbs for around $4 at my local store. It makes way more sense to me to spend $12 and have a complete set of 25 bulbs that are the same design.
