Space saving small tower fan, great to have next to you
I was attracted to this by the small footprint and brand, a household name, and hopefully reliable. Surprised to see so many reviews saying it had misbehaved and gone on a random fan / beep rampage but bought it anyway due to impending heatwave last week. It arrived in the retail box which is not-so-thick cardboard, with just the Amazon sticker on the outside - so I wonder if the faulty units were getting a bashing.Mine has been great so far, had it 5 days, it was on almost constantly for the 4 days of heatwave of (29-34C) and worked perfectly, no nasty surprises. I have it right next to me for sleeping and working, within 2-3 feet and it's fine for that. Quiet enough to sleep through on speed 1, which I used mostly throughout.- When i first tried it the weather wasn't hot and the fan ran very quiet on speed 1, very gentle. Speed 2 was also quiet and only the third speed was noisy.- When the weather warmed up it would start on speed 1 very quietly but speed up to what was more like the 2 or 3 when it was cooler, running quite strongly with a lot more noise. I don't think it says so in the booklet but I wonder if there's a temperature gauge / thermostat in it? Or, maybe it just takes a little while to get going. Still not sure.Haven't tried the sleep timers yet.Modes other than normal / constant fan:- The oscilating mode - well, it works - tower rotates back and forth.- There's a weird 'natural' mode where it cycles through the 3 speeds, going from quiet to noisy - it's barmy why they included this, not natural at all and rather annoying imho.- The sleeping mode (NOT the timer) is supposed to vary the speed, but either mine doesn't or it's very subtle and using in-between speeds not available manually - i can't tell the difference beween this and the normal mode (constant speed) tbh. (The booklet says/implies this is to avoid getting sick from a constant speed - pure rubbish, I think.)There's a slit on the rear where you can store the remote. Do pull the plastic film separator out from the battery compartment or it won't work! There's also an undocumented claw thingy which has a fluffy pad inside to put scent on, which you would push into the front slits - haven't tried yet.I'd like to take one star off for the earsplitting beep but that would seem petty; it's ridiculously loud though. If I can be bothered I'm going to try to take the unit apart and rip it out, and stuff the warranty.5 stars so far - does what I want and only takes up tiny amount of space, and no weird behaviour. If it starts misbehaving I'll report back, fingers crossed I won't need to.

Stylish for bedside table with diffuser and remote
A lovely bedside fan which looks stylish on my bedroom side table. An added bonus of diffuser pad to add your favourites oils. Always sleep with fan at night as noise helps me sleep. Not too noisey and remote control is a bonus. Looks so much better than stand up fan. Definitely recommend this

Great little fan.
I love this fan. I live in a small studio flat and space is at a premium. This fan is small, discreet but provides a lovely breeze. All the functions work well and I'm thoroughly pleased with this purchase. Would recommend.

not terrible, depends on a price
I wouldn't bother with this one if it's too expensive, although it's more powerful than some reviews suggests. It was perfectly ok for the bedroom even on the lowest speed and it worked a lot. The problem is that it has just refused to work, with the fuse is not being a problem, sorry for a terrible pun. It stopped being responsive and because it's a week over the warranty period it means I have to throw it away and that's terrible news for the environment.

What a fantastic strong little fan
This fan is small and sleek yet supplies you with a great flow of cool air. The remote control and varied settings are a real bonus.

DO NOT BUY - stopped working after a few uses
DO NOT BUY. Extremely disappointing, only used for a few days during the past two summers, so used perhaps on 20 - 30 occasions in total, then stopped working. Xpelair customer service utterly disinterested in helping to troubleshoot or repair this shoddy product made in China. DO NOT BUY.

One of best fans I have owned !
Was travelling during the heat wave this year. Had it sent to the next place we planned to stay and we all slept better that night. Compact and easy to transport but more than enough power to keep you cool. The sleep function and timer are great as well as the remote control if using from comfort of your bed.
