In my Porsche I cant use the normal battery connections out of fear of damaging the car so read up and decided to use the internal passenger footwell charging socket instead. This was perfect for the job and reached perfectly as I already had the extension cable

I bought this as an add-on to my CTEC charger as an emergency fix, because the engine compartment (bonnet/hood) lid has an electronic catch. If the battery fails you can't get to it to charge it directly as the catch doesn't work! Having this gadget allows a re-charge from inside the car and avoids the trouble of having to "jump" the catch from an auxiliary battery. So, it does what I want. I don't find the indicator lights particularly useful in assessing the state of the battery in so far as they're over-pessimistic and don't really align with those on the CTEC charger. There's plenty of charge in the battery when they're flashing amber and still enough to start the car when flashing red. Following the lights would have you charging the car all the time. I don't particularly like charging the battery through the cig-lighter/power point as it's running through the fuse box. I normally use the CTEC accessory lead with eyelets at one end that you permanently connect to the battery and a CTEC connector trailing out of the battery box at the other to connect to the charger. This is very useful and saves having to remove the battery cover every time and simplifies things, assuming that the electronic bonnet catch will open in the first place!

Works perfectly and easy to use and read indicator lights whilst being able to connect via 12v

Have a vehicle where the batteries are attached to the chassis and not easy to reach. Thought would a better option and it worked brilliantly.

I ordered the wrong one for my charger first time round so be sure you get the right one ! Some only cover 7amp I need the 10amp version so had to return !
