This is a backup and verifier to my stationary CO detector. I am a bit anxious when using unvented LP fireplace logs or my diesel heater. It helps to be able to confirm the air is safe and also get a clear reading of the levels of CO even when it is under the alarm limit. Also, being portable means I can check different areas in the room or other rooms.

I can’t speak to the accuracy because I don’t have anything to compare it to but I can confirm it works. I used an open flame on my propane stove and held the detector above it, the reading went up to about 70ppm and the alarm sounded. I also tested it near my exhaust of my car and it started getting a reading. Pretty cool meter for a decent price. Will be nice to periodically keep tabs on my gas furnace and stove to check for leaks.

The media could not be loaded. This highly portable unit is actually a decent detector and is pretty sensitive while being extremely easy to use.Reading the instructions, it calls out calibrating the unit which is helpful and out of the box, just moving the unit from one area to another can cause a high reading that is not necessarily accurate. Once calibrated, you can even measure the CO coming off of heating units, car exhaust, etc…This is a specialized detector that is very useful if you have a need for it and for the price, you can pick one up to have in your tool box, just in case you might need it one day.
