Our new pool was difficult to keep clean as debris collected on the top and had to be constantly skimmed by hand. The Swimline Skimmer made a huge difference and is much, much easier. I lined up the frame in between the 2 intake hoses of our Ridgeway pool. Then drilled the holes, fastened with the screws (a few are below the water line) and then used a utility knife to cut out the liner within the frame. After attaching to one of the lines to the sand filter you immediately see water and debris being drawn in. I plugged and closed the valve on the unused drain hole in the pool. Check for leaks, tighten all the screws and you're done. Along with the solar copper ionizer, probably the best additions you can add to keep your pool clean with very little effort. Update May 2026- Still working great after 3 years.

Product was spot-on.The installation instructions were good but i needed very little instruction. But i did need small instructions on butterfly gasket.

Worst skimmer I ever installed. To start with the gasket was malformed & not cut properly, so much for quality control. The top of the skimmer slots would not let the lid lock properly in place. You had to keep trying to force it to fit the cut out slots, once you were able to get it seated then you couldn't take it off to get to the basket which also locked in place weirdly (no handle to lift out) This was another design flaw. The face plate was very thin & flimsy. They expected you to use extreme force on the screws when you were screwing them in but while doing this you were also thinking is this faceplate going to crack. The directions were far from explanatory. There are 4 screws that are suppose to be inserted into the recessed area. I went online to see proper procedure bcuz the directions were terrible on paper. Then it also mentioned using silicone caulk to avoid leakage. Never in my life have I had to use silicone caulk to shore up a skimmer. To get this to work as the whole item was disappointing, I had to use my old skimmer gaskets & all my old screws and I also used my old skimmer plate. The price point on this was very cheap as compared to other skimmers I have bought in the past and assembly was,to say the least, extremely difficult! The screws had to be tightened with so much force it was ridiculous! Online it mentioned using a drill with a driver but again I was afraid I'd strip the screws or crack the face plate. I did it by hand but by the time I was done I had blisters on my palms. I had to tighten over & over again to get it not to leak. I actually wanted to throw everything bk in the box & return the whole thing but the thought of unscrewing all those screws again really did not sit well with me. Thankfully in the end I got it seated correctly & stopped it from leaking. Honestly I believe I got a reject as I said none of the parts seemed to fit together well. Its on! Old face plate, old gaskets, & old screws, thank goodness I saved them & didnt toss. I have put MANY a skimmers on but this was the worst I've ever had to install. Im sorry but I would not recommend buying this product. After the difficulty of the skimmer alone I wasnt even going to attempt the return...I left my old one on. It is not easy to unlock & remove that basket bcuz as I said nothing fit together properly. It definitely is light weight but I would call it flimsy as far as ease of use definitely not easy!
