The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (50th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition) will provide a deep dive into the music and visual elements around this seminal album and pivotal period of time for the band. The album will celebrate its 50th Anniversary this year. The set will include: The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway remastered from the original 1974 tapes (2LPs or 2 CDs) The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway Live At The Shrine Auditorium full live show from January 24th, 1975, including the two encore tracks for the very first time, “Watcher of the Skies/The Musical Box (3LPs or 2 CDs) A Blu-ray audio disc with Dolby ATMOS and Hi Res mixes of the album, along with other select visual images Select Demos and Outtakes From Headley Grange (part of a digital download card with the full audio from the set) A coffee table style book with Alexis Petridis liner notes, telling the story of The Lamb from the writing sessions to live performances, including band member commentary. The book will also feature images from Armando Gallo and other noted photographers, memorabilia and a 1975 Tour Programme reproduction Review: It's The Mint Sauce That Makes The Lamb Even More Delicious - Being a fan of Genesis since the early days I have never been tempted to repurchase The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. I simply refused to believe all the hype that "REMASTERED" editions of my original vinyl collection would make any difference to my aging ears. In fact I cannot listen to Suppers Ready without the scratches my sister grooved into side 2 of my vinyl copy of Foxtrot in 1972. It's part of the nostalgia that's etched into my mind. I had been listening to the Lamb album nightly for 5 months from November 1974, trying to work out what the heck it was all about. The sleeve notes only confused me more... and then, with my best mate Mick, we took our front row seats in April 1975, to watch the entire Lamb album being performed at Newcastle City Hall and it all made sense. Our seats were just below Tony Banks and I still recall the shock of Peter Gabriel's painted face popping out as he lay on the floor beneath Tony's keyboards, inches away from ours at the start of Cuckoo Cocoon. Or the slowly inflating balloons of the Slippermans privates... a bit too close for comfort. Then there was the deafening wall of sound swirling from the stacked speakers all around the City Hall. Especially during 'It' with blinding white lights flickering between Rael and a dummy on either side of the stage and the stereophonic soundstage swooping in time with the strobes. What I am trying to say... it was an experience I will never forget and my memories are as clear now as the night of the concert and that dark November night when I first heard the opening notes to this classic album. So why would I try to recreate this 50 years later? Well as a treat for my days of retirement ahead I recently purchased a Samsung HW-Q990F Bluetooth Wi-Fi Cinematic Soundbar with Dolby Atmos. Featuring 11.1.4 channels across four separate units, including a soundbar, a subwoofer and two rear speakers. I couldn't resist the temptation to purchase this new Dolby Atmos mix of The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. I wasn't expecting anything special but boy, what a surprise. Every corner of the entire room was filled with a psychedelic sound experience. It felt like I was sitting in the middle of the stage at that '75 concert with each band members instrument coming from a precise angle. I almost wanted to turn and see if they were there. It almost brought a tear to my eye. As for the rest of the package. A quality 60 page illustrated book, 2025 stereo remix of The Lamb, a live version of the Lamb (which I already had from the Genesis Archive Box) and a code to download FLAC versions of the album and a couple of demos. Review: The 50th Anniversary Edition. - It's a lovely presentation of a great album. Will I look in the box more than a few times at everything inside ? I don't think so. The remix of the original album is good and I have an old recording of the Shrine performance, including the encores, and yes its an upgrade on that. But for me what stands out is the Dolby Atmos mix. It really picks out things that you couldn't hear before and it'll be my listen of choice going forward. But is it worth almost £90 . I don't think so.

Its only knock and knowall, but i like it.
Love this set. Yes they should have included the demos on a disk, the idea of download able content in a set like this is bunk. That costs a star in my rating. That being said, the rest of it is great. The surround mix reveals so much detail that I never noticed on decades of listening to the album. For me, its the reason I bought the set. Love the live show too. If they had their heads screwed on they could give other albums the same deluxe treatment.

Long awaited release
52 years, but worth the wait. Plenty of photographs and an in-depth critique of an album that has gained much discussion for and against over the years.

Fantastic!
This has always been one of my favourite Genesis albums and Rhino have done a great job with this 50th anniversary super deluxe edition. Presented in a lovely strong cardboard box you get a remaster of the original album plus a never before released 3 record live concert from 1975 - also a soft cover book, concert programme and poster and rounded off with a replica concert ticket which also doubles as a download voucher . A blu ray disc Is also included with various surround sound mixes and a stereo remix. Sound quality on the original album is OK but the real revelation is the live concert which to me totally transforms the whole concept of album - Gabriel's vocals are much more prevalent than on the original album and it sounds like if was recorded yesterday,it's that good! If you're a Genesis fan then this is a must buy item - excellent value.

A fresh perspective on a classic!
The Dolby Atmos mix is fantastic. I have been listening to The Lamb in various formats since for decades (I am 64 and first heard a friend’s copy shortly after its release). This mix is like hearing it anew - a true testament to the masterpiece that so many of us have for so long held it to be. Thanks guys for this incredible gift.

Capolavoro indiscutibile e fantastico remaster. (Versione Bluray + 4 CD)

BRILLIANT ANNIVERSARY EDITION
In 1974 I was already into Genesis but nothing prepared me for 'The Lamb'. This album captivated and enthralled me as much as it divided some of my Genesis loving friends. We moved into the CD era and I had to buy, having both vinyl (for home) and cassette (for car). Alas, the CD was lacking something of the atmosphere and general ambience of the vinyl. Remasters would be added and the 2008 proved the best therefore making me reluctant to add the 50th anniversary edition. Recently, after reading many reviews, I decided to 'bite-the-bullet' and shelve out the $$$. What an absolute revelation! This is an amazingly well presented box-set with the 2025 remaster sounding even better than the old vinyl. All the extra bits and bobs make it an extra special edition. Now I question why I waited/hesitated for so long as this anniversary edition is nothing short of brilliant.
