I live in the South, where it's humid all year round, and hot most of the year (normal summer weather includes 90% humidity and 90+ F temps). When I'd do heavy labor outside during the summer, or ride my bike in similar conditions, I'd get lots of large-muscle cramps, especially in my legs.Started using these on my last 4-day bike trip (along with electrolyte powder drinks). Although we traveled over 150+ miles in 3.5 days, and temps were ~85F each day, I didn't experience any cramps. These are easier to manage/carry than drink powder, which is nice.They're meant to be swallowed whole, but it is possible to chew them (but, as one might expect, they're VERY salty if you do). Also, be aware that the tablets have a tendency to crumble/break if they're subjected to jostling.

I was told that I needed to intake more sodium, but salt pills make me vomit. I don't eat much salty stuff either. So I found these sort of randomly, bought them, and then didn't want to try them. I finally did last week and they did not even make me nauseous! And no GI distress at the other end either! They are helping with my low blood pressure and POTS.

i have a husband who spends a lot of the summer months outside or in a heated work environment. He does his best to keep himself hydrated during the day. but there are times when his body says what you drank is not enough. These buffered salt tablets were recommended to him years ago from a pharmacist. since then we always have a bottle in the house - to be taken if you know it was an extremely hot day or you feel leg cramps starting to happen; take tabs as directed; ward off cramps.although several choices - we went for this brand - the quality, quantity and price the best.

I have used these to combat the heat for years, getting harder to find in drugstores. If it's going to be hot, I take one before I go out and keep a couple for latter in the day. I sweat profusely and too much water make me ill. These keep my temperature under control and help me make it through a really hot day. Not diabetic but I have had heat prostration and ever since been sensitive to heat. These work!

Just what we needed and greay price

I am planning on running an Ultra distance race(more than a marathon distance)in mountains which involves a lot of climbing and descending, sometimes very steep inclines. I live in San Diego, CA and it gets very hot in months of June-July through September end, so keeping up with electrolytes in blood is vital to continue running those longer distances without affecting the pace.
