Klein stuff is all pretty good for the most part. Even though it’s the budget model LAN tester, it works as intended, is pretty tough, and I’ve yet to kill one -even from some pretty severe drops. I would say the only drawback is that it takes coin style batteries instead of something easier to change.

I feel confident in the results of this device as a continuity tester. Unfortunately, with long runs, it is not equipped to show resistance, inductance, and other bits of information necessary for gigabyte transmission. That all being said, it does an excellent job at which it was designed. Unless you are running cable for a living, this is certainly adequate. (If you are concerned about a single, never to be repeated, 50 meter run, you are better off spending $200 or so on a good cable.)
