Cubot RAINBOW 2 Android 7.0 OS 3G Dual UK SIM-Free Smartphone - Blue

The media could not be loaded.  I have had a few Cubot phones in the past including the Rainbow 1 so I thought I would give this Rainbow 2 a try.This phone is running the Android 7.0 software which is great and this was one of the deciding factors in buying this phone.The Rainbow 2 also has a dual rear camera system with a 13mp and 2mp camera. These work together to provide some pretty awesome pics. I have to say that I have been very impressed with the camera. You also get a 5mp front facing camera and a soft led light you can turn on to help with the selfies.The Rainbow 2 is fast and well equipped with a quad core processor and 1 GB of RAM which work really well together with the Android OS.The phone comes with a screen protector already in place and a soft rubber protection case which is great so you dont have to go hunting for a new case straight away.The back of the Rainbow 2 is removable so you can access the 2 SIM card slots and the Micro SD card slot. The Cubot website states that it can take an SD card up to 256GB so you have plenty of room for anything you want. I am yet to try an SD card of this size. I have tried my 64GB card and it works perfectly.This Rainbow 2 phone is only 3G not 4G, but as I am only using this phone as a back up emergency phone I no need for the faster 4G speeds.The display is sharp and clear and has no touch lag. The sound quality from the speakers is also very good and loud. Calling quality is again very good. The phone is also a good size and weight meaning that it feels nice in the hand.So for me its 5 stars all the way because for the price you are getting a hell of a lot of phone with great technology. The Cubot phone bought earlier this year for a friend. It is a brilliant phone for the price. Later, I bought a Cubot Rainbow, which proved a disaster. The phone has numerous faults. The replacement Cubot Rainbow had exactly the same faults, which was also returned to Amazon. Cubot UK informed every phone is tested before leaving the factory. These two phone came off the production line without receiving a full inspection. Probably the last two phone on that closing shift for the weekend.

I bought a Vernee Thor a year ago, ok it's a bit more money, but worlds apart from this rainbow 2. This phone is very slow for android 7. Freezes all the time and some cases takes minutes, not seconds, to respond to a screen tap. Compared to the Thor it's incredible slow and unresponsive, looks the same, very similar build and quality, but that's where it ends. I'm sending mine back as it's unusable for me, very disappointed, and surprised others haven't moaned about this before.After my week of usage, my findings are:Very slow with apps and switching between applications.Maps is ok, but battery cannot charge quicker than it uses it, so pointless for long journeys.Battery life is poor - lucky to get a day out of a charge. Charge rate is also very slow, 1A maximum.IF these things don't bother you, it's probably worth it. But it frustrate you endlessly if you're not a patient person or need to do something quickly.My advice, would be spend a bit more money and buy a Redmi, Vernee or get something else or second hand for similar money.

I've only had the phone a few days but so far so great. I haven't tried everything yet but it installs apps easy plenty of storage for me and has a great camera. It's a really good phone for a really good price.

Arrived quickly on time on a Sunday. Seems to do all my iphone does. Easy to go between the two Simms .

I would give this phone ,5 stars, but the battery lets it down badly only lasting 5 hours on standby.
