If you love a well balanced and robust tea you will love Taylor's Yorkshire Red loose leaf tea. I am also a fan of Taylor's Gold, but first thing in the morning, there is only one tea going in my pot, and that's the Red. It's not a miracle tea, you still need to take the time to make and brew it well. You will also need to experiment with how long you brew it and the amount of tea you use. Why Loose leaf? You can adjust and tweak the amount to your liking. Also, tea bags are often made with plastics, I don't think Taylor's does, but still it's extra production and materials that just get trashed. The packaging is less and you don't have a big box to store in your cupboards. Tips for a perfect brew (for one) - boiling water (steam is better if you have it) - warm the pot for a few a minute or so with some boiled water (I use a stainless straight sided pot, heats quickly and is easier to clean) - bring water back to boil - empty pot of warming water and put in a heaped teaspoon of tea - add boiling water (about 16oz) and give it a good stir - put a mat under the pot and cover with a tea caddy - stir tea after a few minutes, put caddy back on - one final stir and then pour - I find 4-5 minutes is the ideal brew time - if it's not quite strong enough, give it a minute, take a few sips and use what's left in the top to give it a bit more strength - if you will want another cup, add extra half teaspoon of tea and top up the pot with boiling water Final point- if you are in Harrogate, Yorkshire, go to Betty's tea shop for a proper cuppa and a toasted tea cake, bliss...

My favorite is an Irish brand but this is a good alternative. The flavor is milder but it can be made stronger without bitterness. It’s also less expensive than the other and more easily available.

This is one of the best British teas

I really like this tea. It has a special flavor to it which makes it distinctive. In reading another review below, the reviewer wrote that it tasted fishy to her and I would have to disagree. Either that's how she interprets its flavor or I would suggest that she received a stale or mishandled bag. I do like the red bag better than the Yorkshire Gold although that's really a personal taste. I've been drinking it for more than eight years now and liked Yorkshire tea so much that I've bought their teapot and silkscreened mug directly from the UK. The only other tea I've had that comes somewhat close is the Indian brand Wagh Bakri. The vast majority of British tea drinkers will drink their tea hot with milk enough to balance the tannins which I think is essential to British tea although a small percentage will drink it with lemon instead of milk. I rarely have leftover but if I do, when it is cold I'll cut it with some water and lemon juice is lovely with it. I recommend a fresh bag, kept tightly wrapped especially in warmer humid climates. The current price that I've bought here of Yorkshire is a real deal considering the price I have paid for it in the past elsewhere and it is still well within the sell by date. Yorkshire tea is blended and sold in the city of Harrogate, well within the historic boundaries of Yorkshire. My love of this tea had me adopt Harrogate as part of my name as a reviewer, if that lets you know of my regard for this tea and the other teas available from the same people. Cheers!

I consider black tea strong when I need a level teaspoon. Because these tea leaves are granular, I used a level teaspoon. Then I steeped the tea for 5 minutes like usual. The tea was so bitter, but I tried it again on another day. I’m so glad that I did! The second time I made this tea, I used a level teaspoon once again but steeped it for 3 minutes instead of 5 minutes. It was wonderful! I would not steep it for more than 3 minutes.

It is good. Just wish it were slightly stronger.

I'm very happy with this tea. It arrived quickly and the packaging was great. The tea has a strong flavor and color, which I like, but you have to be careful not to use too much. A small teaspoon is enough for a big teacup, otherwise it can become bitter. I got 4 packs of this tea because I don't want to miss it if the price goes up again. update: I have been drinking this tea for a year and I still enjoy it very much. It is a bestseller for a reason: it has great taste and quality. The delivery is fast and reliable, and the product is well-packaged. I always stock up on this tea when there is a sale because I can save some money and have enough supply for a long time. I appreciate the excellent service from the seller and I recommend this tea to anyone who loves tea.
