This bird feeder has a nice solid build quality, and looks great.I want to go ahead and address the usual ridiculous photoshopped images on the listing page, as well as the inaccurate product dimensions listed.As you can see in my photos, this bird feeder is smaller than they make it look in the photos on the listing page. It is actually 6 inches across the front , 4 inches deep, and 12 inches tall. The coated wire hanging cable is about 12 inches long as well. I don't understand why sellers use photoshopped images that mislead customers. There is no way that a Cardinal, which is shown in two of the photos on the listing page, would be able to sit on these perches, as they are simply too small and close to the feeder for a bird that size. However, this small feeder would be great for smaller birds, and this could be beneficial for the smaller birds, since I have been feeding birds for years, and have witnessed the larger birds basically hogging the feeders, and even bullying the smaller birds away from the larger feeders I have.Now that those important details are out of the way, I want to say that this bird feeder seems to be well made and durable, and it looks really nice.I like that it is made of sturdy metal, and not cheap, flimsy plastic. This should help keep squirrels or raccoons from chewing into it. The windows however are made of a clear plastic.I like that there is the little metal ball on top that screws down onto an internal threaded stud to keep the top secured, and prevent robberies by previously mentioned bandits.I also like that the perches have the spring tension mechanism to close the feeder access when the weight of gluttonous bandits is detected. I especially like the fact that it has these perches on both sides of the feeder to allow more space for birds to feed.Overall, this is a very nice little feeder, that is perfect for feeding the smaller birds.

First things first: the original product showed up with an important part missing. The small round nut that holds the roof on was not installed on the first item I received. I requested an exchange and quickly received a replacement - problem solved.Despite what the listing shows, the feeder is a nice and sturdy painted metal construction, simulating a nice red barn look. I do wish it provided a way to adjust the length of line for hanging. Functionally, it does hold a generous amount of seed, but for the the most important feature -- preventing squirrel access -- it failed to thwart my determined and resourceful squirrels for even a single day. As you can see, they have no issues hanging down from the roof to enjoy the buffet and I don't think it ever frustrated them once. I'm going to add a squirrel umbrella over the feeder in the hopes that will keep them from using this particular approach.
