Fantastic portable drive
This is a fantastic portable drive. I have been using it as my Dropbox drive so I can keep everything local. Files now load up very fast and I able to save space on my Mac’s main hard drive. Works very well- recommend.

Decent drive, rubbish cable.
I’ve always bought Western Digital drives as I’ve found them to be the most reliable and stable.I purchased this SSD drive when the price was in excess of £600 (2TB version) for video editing and design work. I found the speed of the transfer of data to be excellent.Having read other reviews about the long length of the cable to be an issue, I had to agree. As the drive itself is so light, the long cable meant the drive moved about a lot and was difficult to position when used with a laptop. After a few weeks the drive started to disconnect by itself, which is incredibly dangerous for data. The problem got progressively worse, sometimes the drive wouldn’t mount at all.As I use the drive for my work in progress (I’m self employed and have no server to work on) I couldn’t risk the loss of files, so I decided to buy a second identical drive, to then try formatting the original one to see if that resolved the issue. To my horror and delight, I found that the same drive had dropped in price by around £200 in that short time!As soon as the new drive arrived I noticed the new drive was supplied with a shorter cable than the original. I transferred all the files to the new drive in batches, carefully checking each and everything copied properly, which it did. I then reformatted the original drive, but that made no difference, it still kept disconnecting. After a lot of trial and error I found that the supplied cable was actually at fault, even though it looks perfect and has been treated with the utmost respect. These drives come with a very respectable three year warranty. After contacting SanDisk (who actually make these drives) they told me the cable isn’t covered by the warranty so I now have to purchase a new one. Poor show in my opinion on such an expensive item when the supplied cable is clearly not fit for purpose.

It comes with a rubbish cable
I got This for my PS4 PRO , and have not been able to use it yet. The cable it come with is JUNK , and considering I paid £280 for the 2 TB version I am not happy about it. It disconnected from my PS4 on its own, I think because it is just a very bad cable which is WAY TOO SHORT to be used for anything, but it also has a connector for the USB which may be its fail point. WHY USE SUCH A BAD CABLE ??. My PS4 said the data transfer speed may not be fast enough , as I have 2 regular external drives which work fine I can only assume it is the cable that is at fault with this, I have ordered another cable and just incase it does not work I have ordered a Samsung SSD that I know works on the ps4 because I saw a review by someone who has the Samsung drive.

Bought two of these. One died within a week and lost a month's work
When SSDs fail, you're in trouble. One of these failed on me after less than a week and lost a whole month's recording work. What can I say? NEVER rely on an SSD. Oh, and they're WAAAYYY dearer than spinning drives too. In future, I'll settle for slow but reliable. Don't say you weren't warned!
