I totally enjoyed reading this book for it reminded me of some ...
I read this book at a time when I wasn't as motivated as I usually am. Few chapters into reading the book, I ordered a pocket bible (the small blue one) as the generous quotations of the bible in the book reminded me of how inspiring the gospel is. I totally enjoyed reading this book for it reminded me of some truths we often forget as life throws curve balls at us. Here are some of the quotes/anecdotes in the book that spoke to me:"There's a unique mission for you to accomplish; a special vacuum for you to fill in the divine mandate...You have a distinct role that you have been methodically fashioned to play in demonstrating the boundless possibilities of the the gift of life that God has given to you."On being resilient and not given up on one's dream in the face of criticism, the author gave an example with Oprah who was once told by her boss that she wasn't good on the screen and was fired as a result, and how Oprah has gone on to become arguably the most influential woman in the media today. There's also this:"You must know that before attaining your desired height of greatness, you may need to pass through the wilderness of challenges. This may come in form of antagonism, maltreatment, opposition, deprivation,etc...But you must never be discouraged. You must press on until your dreams come to fulfillment. "On trusting and relying on God, the author wrote about the story of how once a man was driving a ford when the car broke down. The man, being somewhat knowledgeable about the car, tried to fix it but wasn't successful. Then an elderly man pulled up in another car and watching his desperation told him what to do to repair the car. The man whose car had broken was skeptical at first, but when he did as the old man said, the car started working. It happened the old man was Ford, the man that invented the car.On faith, the author wrote: Faith can be likened to starting something despite feelings of uncertainty;to take action without guarantee of success, and to persist on a course in the face of disappointment and failure. On the fact that only you can determine if you succeed or not, the author wrote: Regardless of external factors, NOBODY will give you success if you don't work towards it. (Caps mine.)There also chapters on procrastination, time management, gratitude etc.The author also used his personal story to illustrate the point of persistence, including how he eventually passed a taxation course despite initial setback and how he rose from being a security guard to now doing a fulfilling job as a case manager with a company that is combating homelessness in New York.I read this book months ago and did this review from the pages I bookmarked. Writing this review now, I am reminded again of the treasure it contains and will be reading it again. If you are at a point in your life where you feel unmotivated or are trying to discern God's will for you, this book is definitely for you. I also feel it will be a good gift to someone who is trying to figure it all. I highly recommend this book.

Awesome Book. Amazing content!!
Great thinking went into writing this book. I loved the discussion of relationships on page 61. I agree that relationships are an integral part of success. The author writes about several experiences that people can expect to encounter on their journey to success. It's an encouraging read for anyone on the journey to their next destination!
