Pretty much any VR (or spatial computing) headset is going to fit your head better with a halo-style setup. Look at the love for the BoboVR, and similar, offerings in the Meta Quest communities. One day, manufacturers will realize this! Without this strap, the AVP is fit to your face by simply tightening it around the back of your head. Of course, this puts constant pressure on your cheekbones, both pulling back and down (the AVP is not light). I can't even watch a 90-minute movie this way. The pressure gets distracting. The halo configuration this strap enables puts most of the weight of the headset resting evenly on your forehead. Because it's working less against gravity, less pressure is needed from the back scrap. With the strap attached, a few things happen: First, I can push the back strap down a bit so that tightening it pulls back and down, rather than just back. Second, there is little to no pressure on my face from the light seal. In fact, I am able to comfortably use the AVP all day for work w/o the light seal attached! So for $59, I go from not being able to wear the AVP for 90-minutes to comfortably wearing it for a complete work day! Best thing is if you have an M2, you don't need to spring $100 for the new Dual Knit band, which is nowhere near as effective as this strap.
