The panel is of good, sturdy quality and is able to keep a lead acid battery topped up even in Scottish cloudy weather. It is mounted towards the east due to limited space, but it is able to fully recharge a 12V 7.2Ah battery quickly during the summer months. I will test its performance on a bigger battery once I get one.The PWM charge controller is doing its job OK but is of mediocre build quality. When there is very little sunlight and the battery is discharged it opens and closes the load circuit too quickly. In this case I need to keep it switched off for a while until it has recharged the battery. It has got USB and 12V output. The cable length is reasonable, suitable for connecting to the charge controller from an externally mounted panel.Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase using it currently for hobby applications.UPDATE :After almost 4 years the panel still works a treat. For some time now, there is a new charge controller that comes with the panel, but I have not tested it. All in all I recommend this product.

Works great
Works well attached to a 12v leisure battery. Keeping it well topped up. Easy to install, you just need some wire strippers and a small cross head screwdriver. Connect the wires to the control unit and battery first, and clip the solar panel on last to avoid getting any shocks. The male and female clips to attach the solar panel are pretty tough to push together, but fit snugly once in

Solar panel is great, not quite sure about the controller.
I bought the 50W version of this solar panel to charge a small collection of 12V batteries that I use.The solar panel comes with a short MC4 connector, which is standard, and a longer cable that you can run to the controller. MC4 connectors are designed to be easy to connect but difficult to disconnect without the proper tool. I've terminated the long cable with an SAE connector, which is much more user friendly.I haven't done exhaustive testing, but the panel certainly seems to charge my batteries much faster than a smaller 20W panel I was using previously.Note that the value 50W is what you would get if you attached a load directly to the panel. When charging a battery you get much less than this (the battery has a voltage that opposes the solar panel). More like 25W. This just seems to be the standard way the industry quotes power outputs. For those unfamiliar with how these work. You need a controller between the solar panel and your battery, or the device you want to power. Think of it as a battery charger. Just as you wouldn't plug your battery straight into the mains to charge it, so you can't plug your battery straight into your solar panel. The controller acts as a battery charger. And just as with any battery charger, the controller has to be set for the type of battery it's connected to.The controller that came with this is a bit confusing. The one page manual says that the controller can only be used with Lead Acid batteries. The seller confirmed this to me in an email. (Hint to seller. It would be really useful to be told this before buying it, with an option to buy a more flexible controller.)However the manual lists 5 models of controller that the manual applies to. But the badge on the side of the controller itself has a model type that doesn't correspond to any of these. Also the manual lists 3 battery types, b01 for sealed, b02 for gel, b03 for flood, that can be used, each a different variety of lead acid battery. But the actual controller menu lists 7 different battery types, simply called b01, b02, b03, b04, b05 b06 and b07. What are the other 4 battery types used for? The seller seemed perplexed when i asked about this and just didn't answer. It looks like the manual doesn't correspond to the supplied controller. On it's default setting it seemed to charge a sealed lead acid battery without any problems, but I've decided to use a different controller as i can't be sure what all those different battery modes correspond to.

Sensible priced kit
I bought this kit to charge a 100ah AGM XDC deep discharge battery that runs the electric fencing controlling my horses.Because it is a AGM battery (gel) I replaced the charge controller with the EPEVER MPPT 10A Solar Charge Controller 12V 24V Auto, 10 amp Solar Charge Regulator MPPT Automatically Identifying System Voltage, for Lead-Acid Lithium Batteries and Load Timer Setting https://amzn.eu/bfORREqEven in low light levels the battery voltage is not dropping below 12v which is leaving the horses very unhappy as when the battery dipped below 12v they used to be able to eat under the fence! The original charger I have used on another panel successfully.Hope this helps.

Perfect
I fitted this to the outside of a lean to on our house. South facing. I didn't angle it but fitted vertically so when the sun is lower in the winter it will still work. Early days but it works perfectly, getting well over 14v in the middle of the day. The controller seems cheap but so far is working perfectly too. I have a small 12v lead acid battery and it powers 4 small LED strip lights perfectly. Very happy so far and would buy another if needed.

Brilliant product just watch the dimensions.
I’m really happy with the panel, it fitted well with a small modification, really easy to wire up and charges nicely. Just a heads up, the dimensions that come up on the information page is for the 20W panel and even after i selected the 30w the dimensions didn’t change. Unfortunately I didn’t know this until after I ordered it.
