Mainstay.. Metal Arm Futon with Mattress (Black)

My husband and I needed a low cost option for a second residence. So I bought this. I was thinking at the low dollar amount it would be flimsy and uncomfortable but was willing to take the risk because of the price. I even thought it might not be any good when I took it out of the box and saw how thin the mattress was.I was very surprised that it was very comfortable and it was great to sleep on.I kinda wish the arms were a little higher. I resolved that with some large pillows.The braces that are supposed to stop the mattress from sliding when in the incline position would not stay on. The mattress tended to slide a little bit, but not much. It was still very usable.I wouldn't recommend it for the primary "show" furniture in the living room. But for a spare space, I think it would be ideal.

MY DAUGHTER LOVE IT BUT I PUT THIS TOGETHER ON MY OWN N I ENJOYED DOIN THIS LOLBUT THE ONLY THING I SAID ABOUT THIS WAS THEY DIDN'T PUT ENOUGH SCREWS IN THE BOX SOI HAD TO GO TO THE HARDWARE STORE TO ET MORE SCREWS TO HOLD UP THE BACK I NEEDED ABOUT4 MORE SCREWS N FROM THERE I PUT IT TOGETHER

Kind of a pain to assemble, the instructions were clear enough, but the tools that come with are real junk. Many of the holes drilled in the frame were off center and the screws were stripping trying to get them in. Once it is together it's sturdy enough, but it doesn't stay locked into place, the back has some back and forth movement. I actually ordered two of these, one for each spare bedroom and I considered sending the second one back after dealing seeing the first one all put together - I kept it because the kids really like having the option for a bed or couch and they think its comfortable enough. The cushion is cheap and not something you would want to spend any length of time on. In this case you really get what you pay for.

I purcashed this Item for my son who is very pleased and satisfied with the frame-easy assembly instructions,easy to fold and open once assembled. We are Pleased with the appearance of the futon and above all he is pleased with the mattress color and light weight ....So, I am thankful to Amazon to make this purchase possible, Thank You, Sheila Tracey, Sacramento, Calif.

It's not bad at all. I came from a family who grew up using sofas. I bought this as i am living on my own and not able to afford fancy sofas.It's definitely not bad. I assembled the thing in a couple of hours. It's a bit low to the ground, but otherwise it's not bad.The mattress is not the most elegant thing in the world, but you get what you pay for and it does its job. I am able to fall asleep on it when I lay down it and I am somewhat picky about what I lay on.

My daughter ordered this for her dorm room & is satisfied with the purchase. The only issue was that the zipper on the mattress was broken when it arrived. Not worth the hassle of trying to return it, especially considering the price.

Comfortable enough for marauding teens who chill with my 18 year old. Clean, conservative, nicely constructed and finished; not too bulky to add to his "man den". Not real comfy for sleeping. Got this on a close out. What a deal.

Extremely difficult to build part of the metal structure as the screws are extremely hard to screw through the metal parts. Needs the use of a screwdriver which is not provided in the package. Otherwise, the structure and final products go according the expectations set by the web pictures and info.
