Kershaw hit a Homerun with this one!
I was surprised at how great this knife is. I put it up against several high-end Spydercos and Benchmades and it not only held it's own, it was superior in several ways. The action is silky smooth, the best of any knife I tried. Pull the button lock and the blade swings freely. It has a great fidget factor with a snappy action, both opening and closing. The blade swings open with minimal upward pressure on the thumb stud. The Magnacut blade is razor sharp right out of the box and is perfectly centered when closed. The carbon fiber scales are not only attractive but smooth and well-milled with no hard edges and its about a 1/16" thinner than a comparatively sized Spyderco Para 3. This is a perfect EDC or Gentleman knife. Although the Magnacut steel is well know for it's corrosion resistance, this is not the best knife (with carbon fiber scales) for heavy outdoor use, camping or backpacking, basically anywhere you would be using it in wet conditions, the handle is too slick. Other than a choil for your index finger and some moderate jimping on the underside of the knife it is basically smooth. It's great for riding in your pocket but not so great for heavy use in wet weather. The handle, at about 4", may be a little short for people with larger hands to get all 4 fingers on. The blade is also relatively thin for any heavy-duty work, but for basic jobs, breaking down boxes or cutting zip ties, it should excel. Kershaw really impressed me with this knife. If you're looking for a thin, light, classy EDC knife, the Bel Air will serve you well.

Compared to the Zero Tolerance 0545…..a light comparison.
I continue to be confused why Amazon lists this knife with a 3.4” blade. It’s 3.1”.I’ll start out by saying, I have never been a Kershaw fan. In fact, the Bel Air is the only Kershaw I own.. I also bought the Zero Tolerance 0545 at the same time. Both incorporate the CPM MagnaCut steel. The ZT has a 3.4” blade. Both have Carbon Fiber scales, though the Bel Air has an interesting marbled carbon fiber pattern. Both use the KVT ball bearing system. As far as the blades, both are 0.09 inch thick, but have different shapes. Both are super light, but the ZT is insanely light!Of course the deployment and lock-up are polar opposite. The ZT is a. flipper with the usual frame lock….Yawn…. (I’ve seen reviews claiming it is hard to flip……it gets easier with use.) The Bel Air has the “Dura-Lock” mechanism which handles both deployment and lock-up. It can be “flipped” by either swinging it open or by using the thumb stud. With a little pivot oil, the Bel Air is the easiest and fastest deployed knife I own, and I have several knives in my rotation…..too many! Granted, the 3.1” blade is not much steel to “swing”. The Kershaw has a mind of its own….it keeps finding my hand!….It’s a fidget magnet. Even though the ZT is lighter, I feel it’s a little tougher in use. Duh….It’s ZT’s mission statement! We all know the Toyota (Kershaw) / Lexus (ZT) lineage. They are both great in their own way.Back to the bel Air…. I highly recommend it (or both) as a sweet EDC.

Amazing knife
Amazing knife from an American manufacturer! The quality of this knife is outstanding and I highly recommend it. It is now my EDC and I expect it to stay that way until something better comes along! There is a reason for all of the 5 star reviews. High quality with all of the bases covered.Magnacut blade✔️Ceramic bearing on the pivot✔️Duralock mechanism on blade✔️Carbon fiber for light weight☑️Medal frame for strength ✔️$100.00 cheaper than anything comparable☑️

Something very nice for your pocket
I can't add much to what others have said. It's a beautiful knife. Feels very high quality. The polish on the carbon fiber feels really smooth and silky but still has good grip. The action is so light and smooth it almost feels like assisted opening. As was mentioned by someone else, it is has a classy enough look to be in the gentlemans knife category, yet is also a practical, tough edc. I have not tested the magnacut knife steel yet, but I'm sure it's more than good enough for my needs. It's not cheap, but I choose to have a couple of very nice knives instead of a box full of ok knives, and I am happy with this choice.

Flawless with some flaws?
Thin blade stock, premium steel and beautiful carbon fiber scales. A perfect small gentlemen’s folder that’s great for fidgeting. It came perfectly centered, no blade play and zero defects. It flys open and closes easily. This knife is small and slicey thin so I wouldn’t recommend it for harsh tasks. I’d get a more robust knife for that. Kershaw has a lifetime warranty and will repair, sharpen and replace parts for a small fee if needed, even the blade! Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that for the money you pay, the carbon fiber version feels a little unfinished in areas due to sharp edges. Though the materials and fit are top quality, they dropped the ball on smoothing off some areas for comfort. The top edges of the blade back should’ve been chamfered as well as the inner edges of the scales against the liner. If you run your finger across both these areas they’re very sharp. I have the beige and blackwashed blade version too and it’s smooth all around without this issue. Overall the materials and service warranty are the selling point of this knife. It will last you for life, but I would go with the beige, the aluminum scales and finishing process on the blade makes it feel more refined and it’s less money!
