Recently I decided that I wanted to go away from taking a full padfolio with me to meetings or just to carry around to jot down notes. I have used Moleskin notebooks before, but despite liking them never stuck with them for very long for some reason. When I decided I wanted to go back to using a Moleskine notebook, I decided to see if someone made a cover for the size that I prefer. As soon as I saw that Saddleback made one, I knew that my search was over.My wife bought me a large Saddleback back about 18 months ago for our anniversary. It is a beautiful beast of bag that takes whatever I can throw at it and continues to get adoring looks and comments from people that recognize craftmanship. So, when I saw that Saddleback made a Moleskine cover it was a no-brainer.The stitching and leather are just as good as they are on my bag and the color (I got the dark coffee brown to match my bag) is great. I wasn't sure about the design, but after using a while I think it works well. The lip to hold the pen using the strap is a novel idea that keeps the cover simple and rugged. The notebook slips in easily, but stays put once it's there.Just like my bag, I expect that this will probably be the first (and last) of its kind that I will need to buy. That is unless I am tempted to buy one of another color. If you don't own any Saddleback leather gear, this would be a great place to start. You won't be disappointed.

I have been carrying a Rhodia Webbook in this cover for about two months and it is a veritable tank. Typical SBL quality and toughness. Just so you know, this cover adds significant dimensions to your notebook. For me it's not an issue since I carry it in cargo pocket of my pants. If you carry your notebook in a front or back pocket this may not work for you so order this being informed of the added bulk. That being said, if you want to protect your notebook, there is no better way to do it than this item. Leather is tough and beautiful with hardcore stitching. I am not a desk jockey and am always on the move and this cover is holding up perfectly. It should last a lifetime. Perfect in every way for me. Just be aware of the size it adds before ordering!

I am a hardcore saddleback leather fan. I appreciate their quality, customer service and attention to detail. The leather is the best there is, and the customer service is on par with the leather. I enjoy using a moleskine notebook, and this cover fits perfectly. The company clearly cares and pays attention to detail. It fits as you would want it to and adds not only a protective cover to the notebook, but a very beautiful one as well.I will admit however, that I am not a huge fan of the cut away section. I know this is to accommodate the elastic band, but I wish there was another model as well, that covered the entire book. I am nt a designer however, and I know that with the elastic, you may need to make room for it, and therefore need to have the cut away, plus it is a nice feature if you want to use the elastic to close the book, but I feel like doing this, with the added thickness, will stretch the elastic and ruin the moleskine. I don't wrap the elastic around the book.I ordered this because I knew what I was getting. I knew the company, and was happy to be a customer again, so please don't take my constructive criticism as a negative, it is just personal preference

I absolutely LOVE my Saddleback Moleskine Cover! When I was in the military I had (and still have) lots of Franklin Covey leather binders and products but never could get into using the planners etc. with any regularity. I just used the note pages and the leather binders.I keep detailed customer notes now in my business and wanted to use just notebooks, so I could file them away when full, and a nice cover. I found this Saddleback on Amazon, combined with the Moleskine notebook, and knew immediately my search was over. No more Scooby Doo notebook for me! (It was fun, make me laugh and was never seen in public.) I know a few people have commented that the cover is bulky to them but, if you've used Covey-type binders, then the Saddleback will be sleek compared to what you're used to. The look is amazing! Quality and classy!Now I don't walk out the door without my Saddleback cover, Moleskine ... and my Waterman fountain pen. And I'm trying to find a reason to buy the smaller Saddleback cover too ... and the belt ... and the bags ...!

Can I just tell you how much I love this cover? I did by the recommended hard cover Moleskine notebook and I would highly recommend you do the same.The smell and feel of the leather is just out of this world. I hope I don't get caught holding it up to my nose!I was initially concerned about the slightly open back but it has not been an issue.What I REALLY love about the cover is that when you open it, the notebook slides such that it sort of "snaps" into place and stays open very well. I will definitely consider more Saddleback products in the future. Well done folks!

I love writing in notebooks but tend to be somewhat rough on them... ok, I'm boardline abusive. Fine, I beat my notebooks to death. I love the grid Moleskines but they tend to wear out before the pages get filled. After purchasing several other Saddleback Leather products and being extremely happy with them I decided to try the Moleskine cover. I ordered this one (medium) and a small one. I absolutely love them. I have been using them for weeks now and they are making a difference already. Besides doing a great job of projecting my Moleskine they really make them look much nicer. I've gotten several compliments on how great they look, they're definitely an attention getter, but in a subtle way. If I had to use one word to describe them it would be quality. They are amazing quality. They look great, they fit perfect, and they do exactly what they're designed to do. If you're a writer or thinking about trying it I highly recommend getting a Saddleback Leather Moleskine holder to protect your Moleskine. You won't be sorry!
