Best Genderless Connectors.
I love these things. They are expensive, but worth it for their versatility. The whole point of these is that they're genderless so you can easily move around components and modules without worrying about changing the gender of the connectors. Also you can build as big a connector as you want because they lock together on all sides and even have many colors (if you order from the manufacturer). They HOLD TOGETHER WELL IF you secure the insert ALL THE WAY. It's hard to describe this, but the piece you crimp/ solder to the wire has to be inserted into the plastic housing UNTIL YOU HEAR THE CLICK. Otherwise, the leaf spring isn't engaged and the terminal has no strength.I can't say if these would actually stand up to 45 A continuous without causing a lot of resistance, but I have put them through 20 A continuous and 40 A peak on an electric bike. They never heated up and after using ~50 of them for 4 years, not a single one has failed.Bottom line, if the setup you're using never changes (i.e. you only remove batteries for recharging or something) then you probably don't need these. If your setup changes (move components from one end to another or reconfigure battery packs for series or parallel) then this is what you want to use.

Be Aware and Im dissapointed
OK here it is on this. Rated at 45amp connecters are so small i would not trust any more then 10 - 20amp max. Wire size compatible 12 awg if your lucky. Try running 45 amp through 12awg and see if it dont start trying to melt down from over heating. Not to mention the major voltage drop at that amperage draw. If your looking for somthing like this you may wanna over shoot it times 3 and look for somthing 150 amp rated from this manufacturer and may be close to the real 45 amp connectors. I can find somthing to do with it for light duty but what i wanted it for NO WAY i dont want to have to deal with putting out a FIRE.Also add says 4 black and 4 red NO its 5 black and 5 red

Great connectors
These are some of the best engineered connectors on the market. They can handle up to their full rating and give you safe positive contact and non-locking retention within reason. To put the contact into the housing I find it useful to hold down the small metallic catch on the front end with a screwdriver. Once you align the contact to the small slot it slides into you get a quick and easy positive click as it snaps into place.Another tip is to strip back thick insulation so it goes into the connector properly and tin stranded wire well back so you have at least an inch of stiff wire to push on. Using a fine stranded wire like I prefer makes insertion hard if you don't.

Works great
I am glad I purchased the TRICrimp crimping tool (elsewhere), but I was working with 10 gauge wire AND 14 gauge wire. I found the cheapest price for both "45 amp" and "30 amp" connectors here on Amazon. It took a little to get used to how how a crimped wire goes into the plastic housing, but once I did, everything else went smoothly. Very nifty power connectors.

Cheap and weak
Bought the special crimper for these connectors and tried wiring my electric bike with them. About 50% of the electrodes don't hold in the plug well. Some snap in very well but the rest just sort of hold a bit but they come right out if you give it a slight tug. Then on top of that some of the plugs don't even hold together well and the plug falls apart. I'm not happy with these connectors and I will replace them with standard spade terminals.

I purchased this to connect amateur radio equipment in the rear of my car, as PowerPoles have become the de facto standard for this. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the package I received actually had 5 pairs of connectors, and not the 4 as described. I don't know if this was a mistake, or if the info needs to be updated, but I will definitely be ordering more of these in the future.

Great but pricey
I bought these for an electric that drew 40 amps. They work fine as do the 30A version in my smaller planes. They seem to be a lot more expensive than the 30's though. A 200% price increase for such a small change in the inner connector? Really?!

These are the bees knees of 12 volt power connections.
If you haven't used Power Poles for your 12 volt power connections before, you will be pleasantly surprised with the quality, ergonomics, positive connection of these things. Once you master the art of installing these, they are WORLDS BETTER than using the de facto standard (cigarette lighter plug) for 12 volt accessories. These are smaller, better electrically, and universal as long as one assembles them in the ARES standard configuration.
