Daylight Company E27 (Edison Screw) 20 Watt Ultimate Floor Lamp, Antique [Energy Class A]

My parents wanted a light in their lounge, as my Dad likes to do puzzles.... Late into the night. We had been looking for a few months and this was the only one that didn't look plastic like and something that should be in a hair salon. It is also the most expensive we found but as it was to go into their lounge they decided this wasn't an issue.The lamp arrived in good time and is extremely heavy. I put it up for them, which took me about 20 minutes. It comes in 3 main pieces: the base, the solid pole and the poseable arm. There are also six optional wheels, a magnifying glass, a "charter holder" and a daylight bulb. We didn't put all the accessories on, as they have no need currently for most of them but it is nice to know these can be added and taken off as and when. It is extremely easy to put together. Everything slots in to place - there is no need for a screwdriver or for power tools in order to set it up, which is good. I would recommend if you do not want to put the wheels on the base, to build it where it will go, as I mentioned previously it is very heavy.As the base is heavy it gives more balance and a sturdy feel. The golden/brass doesn't look out of place and looks fairly modern. Best of all, because it has an elbow joint above the opaque white cone shaped lamp shade, there is no need to move the whole of the stand to adjust the position of the beam. Once you have the light at the required height you simply manipulate the elbow joint to get the light to shine where you need it.The light from the daylight is clear and bright. One side effect of a daylight light (bulb) that I've noticed is my eyes don't feel as strained as they do under the low energy light bulbs.The light bulb is extremely bright and now my parents actually use this as their main light in their lounge.

It's exactly what I was looking for. Gives great light that enables me to craft whilst watching tv. The light is flexible so I can move it to where I need it. It's very sturdy and looks good in my living room. The accessory tray is handy but doesn't seem very stable so I don't use it. The clip is a great idea for holding patterns. Well worth the money

This is an all round excellent lamp. I have looked for a long time for a daylight lamp as I do a lot of hand sewing, but wanted a floor standing one that does not look out of place in the lounge. The light is great, and the lamp very adaptable position wise, so you are able to get the light exactly where you need it. My lounge does not have a lot of natural light, so this has made a real difference in a fairly dark corner, and I am finding it much better than the task lamp I was using before, with far less eye strain. I do not know if I will use the magnifier and clip attachments, but at least you have them if needed. The tray is small but useful for another surface to put your bits on.I have had trouble getting the castors in the slots, but an email to The Daylight Company put me right on that one. You really have to push them in before they click, but overall I cannot fault this lamp.

I do a lot of crafting and my eyesight isn't that great, so when my very old Daylight lamp finally died, I knew I had to replace it. I chose this one for its many features. The light is brilliant and really does make a huge difference when stitching or knitting at night - or those dull winter days. My old lamp had the light and magnifier integrated into one, but I found my hand got a little hot, so I liked the idea of the separate light and magnifier on this one. Actually, it's not as convenient as I thought it would be. The lampshade is very large and I find it difficult to get in a position that isn't so high that the light shines in my eyes or so low that it blocks my view of the television. I expected to use the clip for my pattern, but I don't - I can't read it if it's too far away and if it's too close it obscures my work or the magnifier. Don't get me wrong: I love the lamp. I'm just not using all the features because they don't suit the way I work.

Didn't take it out if the box. Didn't look the best quality for the price. The wheels didn't even clip on the base, so a tipping hazard. The bulb included was a 15w daylight bulb not the 20w that is described so not powerful enough. Sent back.

I’m an avid bead worker. This lamp gives a good light to see the small beads. Easy to adjust the position & the tray & magnifier are useful additions.

The picture is not acurate - the shade is probably twice the size shown; the picture suggests a reading type of light, but this lamp floods the whole room.The caps on the ends of the cross pieces are held on with a bit of screwwed up double sided, thin clear tape and fall off if you get too close.

We had so many issues with this product. The first time it arrived the base was damaged. They sent a replacement which was the wrong size. 3 of the 6 wheels fell off. After that they sent out a brand new one which was great. The customer service was fantastic and I had no issues getting the replacement. The light itself is good and radiates a fantastic daylight glow. Despite the issue with the damaged goods it does serve it's purpose well.
