Low-Cost, Quality Bags that can be Discretely Kept Close At-Hand
When we left the hospital after having our second child, I made sure to grab a few of the blue emesis bags to keep in our vehicles. Fortunately, we've never had to use them, but a few weeks ago, we felt the need to move one to the diaper bag, just in case. In that little bit of moving, the bag unfolded and simply can't be packed as tightly as it originally was. I decided there must a better solution, so I checked Amazon and sure enough, I found these.I haven't had the need to use these, but just handling them, I'm sure they will fit my needs better than the emesis bags. For starters, they are flat enough that I can store them in the seat pockets of the car (With the plastic ring, the emesis bags had to stay in the console). They are about 1/16 thick and 5" x 9", when folded in half. The plastic bag portion is made of plastic that is thicker than a quality kitchen trash can liner, but not quite as thick as a heavy-duty contractor's trash bag. I don't have any concerns about these tearing while stored in a seat pocket with books, headphones or any other non-sharp objects that might occasionally slide against these bags in either the seat pockets, or a diaper bag.At this point, I was going to say that I was too frugal to "waste" a bag by testing it; however, at less than a dollar/bag and 20 bags/box, I pressed pause on my review and headed for the kitchen. 1 1/2 cups of water and 1/2 cup of white vinegar went into the bag. No leaks, but the absorbency was not immediate. I left the bag in the sink, and when I checked on it 15 minutes later. I'd say nearly all of the water was absorbed. When I shook the bag, there was no sloshing whatsoever, but I wouldn't want to hold this thing upside-down either. The vinegar smell right down at the bag was still present, but much less intense. I pulled the draw strings tight and was satisfied with the durability of the bag to withstand a force-fully tight tie-off.Overall I'm confident these bags will do the job. With their thin profile and low cost per bag, I will not only be using them in the cars, but I will be strategically placing them around the house as well. Young kids can provide little to no warning before vomiting, and these cheap, simple bags can be discretely placed within reach in a lot of places.

Very good, useful and practical.
I had bought the medline emesis bags and hated them. The opening was narrow and bag was almost transparent. This one, we loved. This had an absorbent pad, but in the instance of a larger throw up, you can securely tie it up. It is also easy to fold and carry with you. I just ordered a second set of these.I got this to help with Pre-Natal Nausea and sickness. I find this great for the following reasons:1. Wide open bag so no feeling of stuffiness or claustrophobic senses2. Open enough to be able to move head without being restrictive3. Opaque bag, I had the emesis bags but you could see things through and I didn’t want to throw up again after seeing what I threw up4. Absorbent pad is great, it helps to stabilize the waste without then swishing around5. Drawstring like a garbage bag is great. The emesis has notches into which you insert the bag, I didn’t like that.6. Easy to dispose, not very obvious. Imagine this is just another small trash bag with a pad, only is opaque. Compare it to other products where it is very very obvious on what the bag is for.We used this for two pregnancies. We have kept a few spare in the car for any possible future sicknesses. It’s a necessity with kiids. This bag is a great idea!

No more vomit in my car!
It seems odd to say that I love a vomit bag, but it's the truth. My son sometimes gets carsick and we needed something that was easy to travel with, and worked well (read: no leaking!). The included pad is extremely absorbent, and once you close the bag up there is very little, if any smell. This is especially important if we are in the car and can't easily locate a trash can to throw the bag out. I'd say these are also great for women who are experiencing morning sickness, as well as travelers who may get air sick. I now keep one in my purse, and my husband and I keep them in our cars at all times. The bags are large (about 10"), but fold easily. The only thing I would caution people about is that you have to hold the top of the bag open as there is nothing structured to keep it open itself. This is really helpful when carrying around and storing in small places, but you have to be cognizant of the fact it needs to be held open during an episode. I highly recommend.

They work!
Originally I bought these to keep in the car. I'm a Lyft/Uber driver and it's good to keep these handy. However, I personally used 4 of them the other night. I was passing a kidney stone which made me extremely ill.The Good: They did not leak at all, so I was able to stick to the comfort of my bed whilst I puked my guts out, instead of having to kneel over that disgusting porcelain thrown. For this reason alone I would buy these again. I noticed that the little pad inside did indeed absorb the moisture. It turned the waste a thick consistency, but it was not immediate. This is helpful if immediate disposal isn't possible. (Nobody wants to tote around a leaking, sloshy sack of spew.)The Bad: The draw strings are pretty much worthless. It sinches, but not nearly enough to entirely and safely close the bag. You're better off just twisting the bag, then tie it in a knot. This was a challenge because the bag is much wider than it is long. The other problem with these is the smell. If you can't cinch or knot the bag, the smell is pretty bad. Best to throw it away immediately.

Emesis bags
I sadly need these every so often - with migraines and other stuff. They work every well. They pull closed tightly. You get a box of 20. I much prefer these to the bags they have at the hospital with the hard plastic rings. These bags can be discretely put in your glove box, purse. I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. All my reviews reflect my honest, personal experience with the reviewed item - your experience may be different. I receive/accept NO free products or discounts that are not available to all shoppers.

Nice to have on hand. Much better than the clean up!
These bags are larger than I expected. I am not sure why I was expecting something smaller. The pictures provided have a good visual on how large they are. I purchased one box. We now keep two in each car, I keep one folded up in my bathroom bag in my purse, one in my bathroom bag in my back pack and my husband keeps one in his backpack. No we are not sick that much, however one incident of my husband getting vertigo and getting sick in the car made us realize how much we would of liked to of had these before we had to clean it out. I like that these have a draw string to close. I love the idea of the absorbent pad. Even though this makes it a little harder to fold, I would rather it be in the bag for when in use. My parents have had to take long 8 hours car rides for medical trips and they use the vomit bags they get from the hospital they go to. The ones from the hospital have no way of closing them except for someone holding it closed. I find these Carebags to be much more functional. Luckily we have not had to use them yet, but it is good peace of mind knowing that I have them on hand. I like that I can carry it in my bag/purse in case I am in someone else's car or home. I know where to go! I do wish they were a bit smaller however once we use them I may be very glad they are the size they are.

Essential for morning sickness
I bought these bags (through my husband's Amazon account) during my first trimester of pregnancy, and I honestly can't imagine getting through it without them. I had very bad morning (all-day) sickness, and I stashed these incredibly absorbable bags all over the house and car within easy reach. It wasn't always possible to make it to a bathroom or sink in time, and having these babies on hand was a lifesaver for me. Before I bought these bags, I wasn't comfortable leaving the house in case I had to throw up suddenly (which happened often).I like these bags because they are a) discreet and innocuous looking enough to leave on the counter or in my purse, b) super absorbent, and c) easy to tie up and dispose of when full. There's a pad inside that soaks up the liquid like a sponge (and they absorb a LOT of fluid). I also was lucky enough to get the stomach flu later in my pregnancy, and these came in handy again! I will definitely purchase these again. I expect they will be useful with kids.

No mess!
As a family that has frequent vomiting, these have been a real car saver! I'd previously only used hospital-type bags with a round plastic opening but these are a huge upgrade! The absorbing material in the bag starts working immediately and turns into a gel that somehow gets RID OF THE SMELL! They are also very discreet, like a tiny, thin trash bag, so easy to stash in your car or purse. The drawstring closes tightly just like a trash bag. If you've ever held a bag of warm vomit in your hands until you can dispose of it, you really need to give these a try!

Hopefully, never needed but problem solved if I do need them.
I had a dreadful episode of throwing up beside a bus stop. Not sure what caused it but it would have been much worse if it happened on the bus. I didn't even have a carrier bag, I had to leave the mess for people to hopefully avoid. This was the first time it happened outside but I occassionally have instant sickness in the house. Problem solved with these bags. I keep one by my armchair and a couple in my man bag and another couple beside my bed - just in case it is needed. These bags have an absorbant pad thing to soak up the liquids, a draw string to keep it closed and easy to dispose of. Hopefully I'll never use them but if I do, I'll be glad I have them.***Update***I was so glad I took these with me when I went to Morrisons for breakfast this morning. I had only managed a forkfull when I suddenly realised I was going to be sick. It was utterly embarasing. No time to dash to the toilet. Fortunately I had a sick bag in my man bag and pulled it out. The bag was fit for purpose. Large enough to take the contents of my stomach, the absorbant pad soaked up the vomit and the drawstring to keep it tightly closed until I could dispose of it properly. The sick bag was great, it did what was expected. I now need to wait until Monday to see the doc as to why I'm being sick.

Perfetti
Semplicemente perfetti. Manengono ciò che promettono. Nessun odore sgradevole, nessuna perdita. Sorprendenti.

Absolute best purchase for my chronic illness!
I suffer from cyclic vomiting syndrome and prior to buying these bags I lived in fear of leaving my house when I was having an episode or if I might. These bags are SO handy and work great. They fold up small enough to fit in even my smallest purse or the zipper pocket of any bag - to avoid holes from wear and tear (since I take them with me always) I fold them and put them in a small plastic zip bag. I always have one on me, it's convenient, and it works! About to buy my second box!
