Top quality paint that’s expected from Ronseal , worth the prize to get it right first time

Finding it difficult to find dark brown exterior paint at local DIY shops, I ordered this product via Amazon. Firstly, it's pretty much the ideal colour I wanted to paint over some outside windows, so spot on from that point of view.I followed the directions on the tin closely, scraping and sanding down the old paint first. The instructions state 2 coats on already painted wood and 3 on bare wood. The upward facing surfaces were virtually cleared of all the old paint so they got 3 coats and the rest 2.One thing I really liked about this paint is that it's water based, so none of that soaking brushes in white spirit after painting. Just rinse with cold water and then wash with a bit of washing up liquid. It is however quite runny so don't expect a 'non-drip' product. However being so thin it does apply a lot more easily than a typical oil based gloss paint. If you think that you'd get away with a 250ml tin for the job you need it for on the basis that an oil based gloss would possibly only need one coat, be assured that you will almost certainly need two coats.Note that I've only given it 4 stars. That's solely for the reason that I obviously can't say with any certainty that it will last 10 years as it says on the tin. I hope it will but I think that giving it 5 stars would endorse the claim. That might be a little unfair, since in all other aspects it was the perfect product for the job.
