after recently buying a new LG TV that came with the basic remote control I was in 2 minds as to whether it was worth paying out for the upgraded magic remote, in the end after reading reviews I gave in and Im glad I did, it worked well straight out of the box, all I had to do to begin with was to register it with the TV and away it went no problems, easy to use good voice recognition so much quicker using this remote compared with the basic remote so I would recommend this product with no hesitation its worth the extra money.

The should be included as standard considering the price of their TVs but alas... anyway, throw out that cheap £5 on the market remote they supply you with, yes it really is that awful BUT this remote, its a wonder and its a Universal Remote that will control most things you connect to your TV, hell I can even navigate my Playstation with it as well as my Sky Box and its THE BEST air mouse remote I have ever used bar none, just wiggle it n up comes the mouse, simples. Just make sure your TV is listed and then just buy, ya won't regret it.

Bought this to go with my new LG 43" 4K TV (a UK6400). On the whole I'm very pleased with it. Here are my thoughts so far -GOODReally easy to set up - it found the TV straight away after putting batteries in. Very easy to use. You navigate with it in one of three ways: by using the directional cursors (like a normal remote), using voice control (which is kind of cool, though I don't use it much to be honest), or by pointing the remote at the screen for a 'cursor' (much as you would use a Wii controller). The cursor is by far the easiest option IMO. You also got the scroll-wheel, which is useful for scrolling down channel lists etc.One really good feature of this is its abilities as a 'Universal Remote'. I've never used one of those before, but it's very useful. I have found that I can use it to control my PS3 (for menu navigation, playing films etc.) and also my Amazon FireStick. Both are connected to the TV with HDMI & the LG remote controls these automatically when on that input without having to do any additional set-up. (This was especially useful for me as my FireStick remote broke only days after buying this - result.) I think the remote communicates via the TV HDMI link rather than with the other system directly, but I'm not sure. You can also use it to control other devices connected to your system, like AV, DVD players etc. To do that you need to select your manufacturer from a list & set it up via the menu to get it to send the right IR signal.NOT SO GOODA few minor negatives. The instructions included are pretty much nonexistent - it's mostly easy to figure out yourself, though there is a degree of 'I wonder what this button does?' random pressing. It is quite expensive at ~£50. I managed to get one second hand for £20 which is great, but don't think I'd personally have paid £50. Also note that the 'Universal' remote isn't truly universal - I have an amplifier connected to the TV via optical cable and can't use this remote control for the amp because my manufacturer (Tangent) isn't listed.Be aware that (on my model at least) the 'play' and 'pause' buttons shown are actually buttons labelled 'TEXT' & 'T.OPT' (which I'm not 100% sure what they do to be honest). The new ones from Amazon may have play/pause - don't know. It also doesn't have an 'info' button like the normal remote - that is a minor annoyance as I quite liked seeing when Netflix was streaming in 4K by pressing it, but I can live without it.So, it is a good remote. Perhaps a little expensive and I found the voice control a bit gimmicky, but maybe that's just me. Not perfect, but certainly an improvement over the supplied remote.

This remote turns a smart tv into a really smart tv.My tv is now much more initiative. Voice search works well and most apps use the pointer great.Shame the BBC iplayer doesn’t fully utilise it yet but that’s a small gripe.

Bought to go with my LG tv which came with a standard remote. Easy set up ........ sort of. LG Instruction book next to useless and the download manual I got from the LG website wasn’t a lot better. But it’s still a good bit of kit

It took ages to come. Then it didn't work. I returned it using the Amazon return facility (costing me £12.05 in tracked postage back to Germany) and then they refused to accept it!Rotten product, rotten supplier, and rotten returns process.I will now be pursuing the matter with Amazon

Seems a little pricey for a remote control but it works nicely. It certainly saves time over the standard remote. My only concern is how long the batteries will last as I've heard they won't last long. I'll find out in a couple of weeks though.

Great remote, makes typing much easier without the need for a keyboard.Pointing and clicking is great.My only small gripe is there is no dedicated pause play stop fast forward rewind buttons. All can be done with point and click but think this would be better with dedicated buttons.
