Better Than I Thought It Would Be
At first I was a little afraid to order a "plastic" garden trowel, but the price was too good to pass up, so I gave it a go. I was pleasantly surprised at the feel and sturdiness of these; they don't feel like cheap plastic, but more of a very sturdy resin type material with a good weight. Not quite as heavy or weighty as metal, but definitely sturdy enough for digging. This one is my second purchase; I bought one a few months ago and have been happy with it; it has held up well, so thought I'd get another since I always carry them around and misplace them. Besides the price, the best part is that they don't get rusty.

Better than metal
I have each style in this material. I LOVE THEM. I’ve tossed out many metal styles that eventually get bent below the handle with those deeper weed roots and bulbs. I’ve used these to dig up 300 sq.ft of invasive allium bulbs from previous home owners and no issues. Absolutely the most durable and sturdy on the market, AND lightweight! I will only use these for gardening hand tools for as long as they keep making them in this material.

Great gardening tool
Expected a sturdier tool, yet for the price it is good and does the job easily.

Made great Christmas present
I like Fiskar products and have always been partial to their scissors. Last year I bought some of these garden trowels and gave one to my sister. She loved it and praised it so much, I bought 4 at Christmas time last year and stocking stuffed one for her, her twins and my mother. They were a great hit. One of them did break and I forget the circumstances but the new dog played a part in its destruction. She was so unhappy to be without her trowel, I got her one shipped out to her within a day. She's a happy gardener again and so is the rest of the family. BTW, no one will share or loan their trowel to anyone else either, so that's a plus for Santa ;-)

Lightweight & Sturdy - Good for Hiking/Camping as Well as Gardening
Although this is designed as transplanter, I purchased this spade to use as a lightweight digging tool when hiking in case a one of the hiking party needs to dig a hole for use as a bathroom/latrine or to dig a shallow fire pit when camping. The spade is sufficiently lightweight that it adds no appreciable weight to my pack but is strong enough that it works to dig in all but the hardest soil where any spade, composite or metal, would be of limited worth and where one would have to use a shovel in any event. The material is described as a nylon/fiberglass composite rather than plastic. The "nyglass" material is, in fact, stronger than a spade of this size in plastic would be - it is quite sturdy and inflexible. The blade is a little thicker than a metal counterpart, however, so it requires that more energy be expended to dig in compacted soil.

Tip broke off
I used this trowel for about a year. Note, I'm not a frequent gardener, but the soil where I live tends to be dry, not light and fluffy, so I needed a trowel that could withstand pressure. This was not it. The tip started to bend back on the end of the tool then eventually got weak enough that the plastic cracked and ripped about an inch or two down from the end.

Sturdy and a great price!
Love this little spade . I had an old one that I kept trying to bend back into shape… so glad I finally bought this one . Why did I wait so long.

DURABLE GARDEN TOOL
I transplanted a number of plants into my garden this spring. I use this tool to put potting soil around my transplanted plants. It worked great. It's an easy cleanup to just turn my hose on it and the water just washes the dirt right off. Highly recommend.

Would be very hard to break this shovel and is great for plating seeds because it has measurements on it.

Very sturdy and easy to grip but the spade part is a little too narrow for my liking :(
