Chicken & Rice Bowl -- Super Quick and Easy
This is super quick and easy. Put the provided plastic bowl for 1 minute in microwave; you don't even add water. The nearest alternative would be a can of soup, where you must provide the bowl. The Compleat is like soup with most of the liquid evaporated so you are left with thick gravy. Another benefit is that the Compleat is very light-weight, unlike having to stack heavy cans of soup.Taste is better than I expected. I would say it is like what you could expect going down the line of a cheap cafeteria and choosing the chicken and rice entre.

MUCH FRESHER TASTING THAN FROZEN DINNERS BUT HIGH IN SODIUM
All these Hormel Compleat dinners are delicious and much fresher tasting than any frozen dinners. But vegetables are scarce or absent from their recipes. I always add sliced, steamed carrots! And I think they would staste just fine if they woukd lower the salt and get the sodium levels down by about a third or so!

Ok in a pinch, but…..
The flavor is good. The only issue, and it is a big issue is that 95% or even more is nothing but rice and gravy. I found only two small pieces of chicken in it. Considering that it is called CHICKEN and Rice, the resulting product is pretty sad and a bit of a ripoff.

Not my favorite, that is a tie between Beef Tips with Gravy and Mash Potatoes and Sweedish Meatballs. This meal is very saucy and I feel like that takes away from a lot of what it could be though I'd assume that sauce is what helps it stay preserved.I always cook by directions and then drain most of the juice, and then I place it into the microwave a little longer. Everyone's microwave is different so don't follow my instructions though I do around 20-30 seconds more. You know your microwave better then I do so nuke safely

Good meal
Not overly salty. Excellent for a quick or on-the-go supper. I would recommend it to anyone for a work lunch, a lunch at home, or a grab and go.

Taste worst than cardboard .
I ordered 2 of these Hormel Compleat Chicken and Rice meals.....just to try out for convenience and time saving .The taste is awful....the worst thing I tasted in a long time .i swallowed the first bite and spit out the second .....And threw out the cooked tray and dumped the never used 2nd tray .I'll never order this Hormel product again .I have to assume the Hormel quality control team does not taste or evaluate this product .

I hate TV diners
These ain't TV dinners. Give compleats 5 stars on lazy days. Far from a gourmet meal but more than adequate. Here's the rub; I am 78 and its just me and Shugababy (160# Bullmastiff) There are days I just don't want to fix anything to eat, even toast. So I punch 5 holes in the top micro for 75 seconds, uncover stir and eat. My Hormel sure is good right about that time. Best of all, throw the package in the trash and I am done. I keep about 8 varieties on hand even the ones for breakfast. I am glad I found these lazy day meals.

It's Edible...
I'm on a Gluten Free journey, trying all the gluten foods I can find since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease. This one seemed promising. I like chicken. I like rice. It was fast and easy to make. I liked that it sounded like it was meant to be bland and not super spicy like many chicken and rice dishes are. When your insides are healing from something like Celiac Disease, bland is good. However, this meal wasn't good. It smelled promising, but looked like mush. It felt like mush in my mouth. Glop, really. And I'm not wholly convinced there actually WAS chicken in it. I think I got one or two tiny scraps of it - very much like those tiny little squares of chicken in Chicken Noodle Soup that you know they only put in there because Noodle Soup wouldn't sell as well. Still, every bite just tasted the same. Like... edible glop. Hmm.If you want bland chicken and rice, just boil up some Minute Rice and toss some canned chicken into it. It's way better (and blander) than this.
