Yes the Sony str k502 does provide a sub out to send a signal to a powered sub woofer. I have severa (in black or silver)l in good condition for sale here in Amazon.

100 watts per channel in stereo mode. In surround mode it would be less. Its a nice basic reciever.

Q: Can you hook it up with hdmi

Hi, it doesn't have HDMI. I hook all HDMI to my tv and then use an optical cable from the tv to the receiver. Sounds excellent, if you hook up decent speakers. I haven't felt the need to upgrade all these years.
