No, I guessed really and though its a tad big I think a medium would have been too tight. I have a 3 year old golden Cocker Spaniel. The coat itself is absolutely brilliant as Cooper really struggles in the heat but this coat really works and he managed to relax and have a nap in the sun which I've never seen so I'm very happy with it. Try measuring your dogs back length from collar to tail, chest all around the largest part, then email the seller, I'm sure they'll give you abetter idea. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Debs

I’ve got a medium for aCairn terrier,so would suggest large for your lab.

I bought one of these for my 19 month old golden retriever (size Large) and it’s been a life saver. Where we live it’s been reaching 34-36 degrees and after about 5-10 mins you can see it working. When I take it off to re wet it Buddy’s body feels cold. He’s had it on everyday more or less since I bought it and has even had it on at night time. This is excellent value for money and I’ll be buying another one shortly. Thanks for helping Buddy to feel cooler and more comfortable ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

AWFUL! AVOID! Do NOT buy!

Product arrived a month ago, but I left it unopened in the packaging until the weather warned up and it was needed. I opened it today, and as it was vacuum packed it was all stuck together. So following the instructions I rinsed it in and left it to soak. After soaking under the tap/in the sink for the best part of 5 minutes it hadn't unstuck, and the item just rips if it you try and prise apart very gently. The stitching is appalling, there are gaps around the seams and the velcro strip is coming away. But that's not the worst part! Once soaked and I'd managed to finally open the product, I realised it was covered in black MOULD spots!! Absolutely disgusting, and isn't fit for purpose! AVOID THIS PRODUCT LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

Great cool jacket!

My old dog has loved this in the current heatwave! We could have probably managed with a medium size rather than large (for a working cocker 18kg) but it is easy to put on and does the trick.
