Gibsons Piatnik Playing Cards

My Mum bought a double deck of Piatnik playing cards in the 1980s. They were getting to the point where we using them so much, they needed cleaning, and the lack of use of the Jokers was obvious.I searched for the same brand of playing cards, Piatnik, and there were a good few options available, including French style, Paisley, and Monet. I am very happy I found Luxury, as these were the closest to the style of the cards from the 1980s we already had.The Tudor-style box the double deck it comes in is very nice. The Poker size cards, including the smooth and shiny material, are fantastic. The font for the numbers and the style of the Spades, Hearts, Clubs and Diamonds are cool. The Jacks, Queens and Kings all having individual characters and personalities in both sets are lovely and colourful. Finally, the Amazon description said the packs came with two Jokers each, it is in fact three!If you are looking for classic playing cards for any well-known games, e.g. Poker, Blackjack, Snap, Go Fish, Rummy, Contract Rummy, etc, then these are definitely the cards you should buy. They are perfect quality, and highly recommended. Fantastic!

I purchased these playing cards on 09/08/16 and they arrived today, together with the other deck I ordered (which I have just reviewed), and I think that these are the most beautiful of all the decks I have bought. Although the court cards are generic rather than based on historical characters (although I'm sure one of the Queens is based on Hans Holbein's portrait of Anne of Cleves), they are the most exquisite I have seen, and I like the wreaths round the Aces too.

This two decks card set is the best what you can expect from such items. Piatnik is something classical or as other say old-school. The oldest company still fabricated playing cards. This is one of the highest model ideal for playing bridge (as I wanted). You must remember that size of the cards is slightly larger than standard, which means better for short-sighted people, but it doesn't fit into card shuffling and dealing machines, as well into standard duplicate bridge boxes.

Absolutely superb deck of cards. The cards are a little wider than normal cards. The court cards are very bright and cheerful and are amazing to behold...such lovely artwork. The pip cards are also special being on pale yellow backgrounds. The cards are plastic coated too. not like the commentor says below. Overall a wonderful value for money deck of playing cards that you will be ashamed to play with as they are too nice.

Piatnik = quality. They always pay attention to details. Highly recommended.

I do like these cards, and the designs on them are beautiful, they're definitely a 4 star product, but I wouldn't say they are luxury size by any means, they're the same size, if not smaller than a standard playing card deck. I still recomend them as a gorgeous set of cards, but don't think you'll be getting large cards, because you won't be.

Best cards ever made, have already 4 packs unopened for the future. Best cards for games other than poker and gambling.Same quality ad 20 years ago. I Stock up on this and keep them because i would not see myself play games with any other cards.Thank you Piatnik for this good old traditional cards

Carte super belle, quasi da collezione.

It's a beautiful deck of cards especially the pictures of the Kings, Queens, and Jacks. It's an excellent choice. Actually, it's not the first time I own these decks of cards. Several years ago, I was able to purchase this kind directly from Vienna, Austria. My only concern is the price that was charged by the dealer. It was twice high. I wish in the future the dealer could lower its price.There is another deck of cards that I'm interested in and that is the Club Romme Deutsche Spielkarten (Dutch Playing Cards) also by Piatnik. I hope the dealer could carry this.

Die Karten sind wunderschön und für jede Kartenlegerin ist es eine tolle Bereicherung!Die Qualität jeder Karte ist gut. Ein kleiner Mangel haben diese Karten in Bildern bei Königinen, Königen und Boten.Die Gesichter gucken immer in eine Richtung, abgesehen davon, ob die Karte gedreht ist oder nicht.Bei Herzdame und Herzkönig stehen die Köpfe gerade. Wenn Pikkönig und Pikdame liegen zusammen, so gucken sie auseinander. Die Karten habe ich trotzdem behalten, weil man die Aussagen jeder einzelnen Karte neu und anders interpretieren kann. Jeder muss für die o.g. Karte selbst entscheiden, in welche Richtung seine Karte gucken muss.;)
