8 x 450g Alginart Chromatic ALGINATE - Moulding Impression Compound - Hand, Foot, Life Casting

Love it came out just as I wanted. I used two bags of 450g aliginate to make my holding hands model and cut the top off a 5 litre water bottle. It was actually too much mix because as we put out hands in it was over flowing but no big deal, better to have too much than too little. With some of the reviews I was extremely paranoid about mixing and getting our hands in the mould quick. We decided to use cold water because we had nothing to determine the exact temperature. This worked out to our advantage, upon mixing very very quickly then getting our hands in the mould within 1 an half minutes we realized it was taking a while to set, it occurred to us we could have had extra minute mixing where we had used cold water. I should also add within the panic we didn't really mix the aliginate very well, There was lumps of unmixed alginate in places. This did concern me but as you can see bad mixing didn't effect the end result. I would say don't be too concerned about getting a perfect mix. We only needed 1kg of stone to fill the model. After 4 hours we removed the mold. The model was near perfect apart from a few bubbles of stone which had attached itself to the model. (possibly where the alginate wasn't mixed properly). This was easy to rectify, I just used a tooth pick to scrap it off.. It's myself and my Husbands 30th anniversary this year so what a great keepsake to mark the year. The model actually looked great white but I had already decided I would paint it. I painted my hand champagne gold and my husband's rose gold ( 3 coats). I still wanted more sparkle so to seal it I used Mod Podge 8 oz Sparkle Waterbase Sealer, Glue and Finish, Clear

These are very strong to wrap around nails to use with acetone to successfully remove gel nail polish

Works well, delivered quickly.The only downside for me is that the moulds need to be stored in moist conditions as they loose flexibility over time. They appear to have a limited lifespan so this material may not suit for long term high repeat use.

Absolutely incredible customer service! Customer support replied to messages on the same day to answer questions and provide a tracking number. Product arrived in perfect conditions with detailed instructions and tips which was appreciated as I’d never used alginate before. Process was easy to do and understand and complete for an amazing price compared to other alginate available

This did the job. We purchased a mould for hands for a christmas presant and when we attempted it..well lets just say it looked nothing like hands. We decided to give it another go so i purchased some of this. The instructions for this product were slightly different and reading previous reviews we followed the advice. After stirring for exactly 2 mins we then plunged our hands in, waited exactly 2 mins and carefully took them out. I left it for an hour then prepared the stone that came with our previously purchased product. Poured that in and left it 24hrs. I removed the mold and was really pleased with the outcome. I would suggest that when your hands/foot are submerged make sure you shake the container quite hard to make sure all areas are covered with the liquid. I lost a tip of a finger due to air bubble and had a view bubbles in the hands. Will most deffinatley use this again.

I have used this before and got good results when casting my daughter's hand and foot. Disappointingly, the bag had a hole in it this time and some of the alginate had spilled out, hence the lower rating.

Simple to use, just mix, wait for it to change colour and apply. There was instruction provided – so that was helpful. Picks up every little detail. I used for face mask – so added plaster Paris bandage for added strength. You can have loads of fun with this – brought some more and did my nephew hands as a gift for their parents – cheaper that get a professional to do it and simple… Will order again
