Chums Baja Urban - Striped Eyewear Retainer & Sunglasses Strap

This is a cute glass strap. Soft around my neck.

Super comfortable and sturdy! I’ve tried many frame holders and wanted cotton but also not a nuisance or looking dirty immediately. These are it. They don’t hang obnoxiously in the back and the silicone allows you to slide it to the top of the arms or towards the bottom. Even with extra space to spare they stayed on towards the bottom. I have crazy sensitive eyes and need good glasses to even pretend to help. (I wear them in overcast even bc they’re that sensitive) That means Mauis or Smiths (only 2 that cut it for me) and I’ve ruined many very expensive pairs bc they fall from my head, neck, and shirt. I knew eventually I could find a strap that worked and this is it! Doesn’t look stupid and does its job.

I need readers because I had cataract surgery. My optomitrist said that I would probably need -2.0 correction and that I could get readers on line or at Target. She was right. Got some -2.0 readers on Amazon and more at Target. All good. It is nice to have the readers on the string around my neck so I can probably find them. These are colorful, you might as well show a little color. Also the color helps them stand out from the other junk on my desk. The best thing about them is that the grips work on glasses that have narrow side arms. They don't slide off like the cheap ones that might come with the glasses. All of the readers have narrow side arms (that is what the sides are called). When you take the glasses off they dangle on your chest so you can easily put them back on when you need them. The glasses frequently come with small pouches which you can use if you are in a restuarant and it is just a little wierd to have your glasses dangling around your next the whole time. I have had good luck with these. After about a month I got a second pair. The length is not adjustable but that has not been a problem for me.

Consider this my official confession: I am now a Chums collector. I bought one of these just to keep my sunglasses safe, but I fell in love with the vibe so much that I’m now on a mission to own every single color pattern. They are comfortable, they look awesome, and they keep my glasses exactly where they need to be. If you see me, just know my eyewear game is secure—and I’m probably already shopping for the next pattern!

I usually like the Costa Fathom cords, but after my second set broke, I figured I’d try a change. The rubber on these compared to the Costas is thicker and does not slide on the temple as much. I like the temple attachment vs the ear piece because of comfort (ear piece doesn’t dig into your head like cablz etc). The color , feel, and thickness of the material is really good. I also like that they’re on hinges that allows flexibility. Also, unlike the Fathoms, the length of these doesn’t need adjusting- perfect how they come. And- they’re Chums- made in USA!
