Super quiet, keeps up (for the most part) with my impact
Once upon a time, I was trying to change the transmission oil in my car, and I couldn't get the drain plug off (it'd been on there for ... a long time). Before admitting defeat, I decided to invest in a pneumatic tool system (I had nothing, so it would mean a compressor, fittings, hoses, reels, tools, everything; I could've gotten an electric impact, but where's the fun in that?). This was the first piece. With rubber feet, a clever air intake filter, a larger, lower-RPM motor means a super quiet operation. This is SERIOUSLY quiet, I can have a conversation without raising my voice. The tools you will use with this compressor are far louder than it is.Please buy high-flow fittings (Milton makes some) and 3/8" hose with your setup if you are in the same boat I was in (you need a whole system). Although the pipe fittings are 1/4", it's still a huge improvement over 1/4" hose with regular fittings. The high flow makes a world of difference, no torque loss at the impact wrench, more air with your blow gun, etc. With my Earthquake XT 3/8" impact wrench, this little compressor was great -- although after about 2-3 seconds of continuous impacting, the compressor cycled on, and after 5-6 seconds, the tank was empty (from 120 psi). So, this tank is not very large. But if you have the patience of a saint, it will get the job done. Very quietly.I also bought a blow gun for use with the system, and it also drains the tank very quickly (although it is advertised as a high flow one). In essence, this tank is not very large at all, but it will get the job done if you stop and let it refill. For filling car tires (a significant volume -- the tire was completely flat, up to 35 psi) it didn't even cycle on once. I suppose impacts really do use that volume of air even for straight hammering. For other air compressor newbies like myself: when you're finished with the air, make sure to drain the tank, otherwise the water inside that gets "squeezed" out of the air when it's compressed will rust the inside of the tank. To do this, behind the regulator (the box with the on/off switch on it) is a thing with a ring around it, kind of like a grenade. Pull it. (Cover your ears). That's the emergency relief valve and needs to be free of debris, so use it occasionally to make sure it still works. Then, drain the remainder of the air with the valve on the bottom of the tank. Again, cover your ears.An excellent air compressor, and as others have noted, the parts all seem to FIT the product, like it was actually designed by someone instead of cobbled together with the cheapest parts from Alibaba. Superb quality, very functional, no complaints whatsoever.

My new favorite compressor
This little air compressor is going to go with me everywhere. It's small enough to put in a cabinet and quiet enough to stick a client's living room. It is ultra quiet! Compared to mostly all other compressors. With the low voltage start up, I might even be able to use it on an inverter with my pick up on those new construction jobs that don't have power yet.(Haven't tried that though). If this thing holds up I will never buy a pancake ever again. If you need lots of CFM, this is NOT the air compressor for you. This little guy is made for pneumatic tools such as nailers, brad nailers, staplers, and other one shot tools. This will NOT keep up with rotary tools like die grinders, air hammers, paint sprayers, and other air hungry tools. After all it is only 2 gallons. Now, the reason I would buy this again and again.... I do fine wood working and finish carpentry. This little guy will fit and function comfortably in just about any standard cabinet while doing shop work. The profile of the machine with a hose attached to it is only about 16" tall with a thick rubber hose. The tank is only about 18" wide. I personally will be plumbing this into my assembly table. With the angle of the one hand air attachment, it will be easy to unplug it and go when I need it on an install. I won't have to worry about annoying the clients so much with how much noise this thing produces. You can still hold a conversation with the pump compressing air on the floor between you. Not saying it would be comfortable, just possible. If my shop gets any bigger, I will most likely buy one for each station. If you are on the fence about it still, just get it. It's cheaper than a harbor freight pancake and the perfect sidekick to any big compressor. You really can't loose. Coming from a guy that holds on to money like it's still the 1930s. Overall a great purchase.

Excell Sac22Hpe Excell SAC22HPE 2 Gallon
Fast free delivery (arrived next day, I do not have Amazon Prime). It is a bit heavy, but looks and feels like a quality machine. Easy setup. Up and running in no time. This unit does not come with a hose or any nozzles, which is fine because every one has different needs. I already have a hose and nozzle which does not have a snap in connection, so I removed the connection that came with the compressor, and just screwed in my old hose. This compressor is very quiet. I use it to fill up tires (autos, motorcycle), and blow up big pool floats, etc. so it's maybe a little more than I need. If it lasts and gives me years of service, I will be very happy with this purchase.Really no negatives yet. What would make me give it 5 stars? If it last 8-10 years without maintenance. We will have to wait and see.

Not in use yet!
It was a toss-up between this unit and the Rolair JC10 Plus with the Rolair stats offering just a bit more delivery rate at 90 psi and a more fully enclosed "roll cage" at a higher retail cost. I decided to try the Excell and received the compressor on time and just as it has best been described without being able to make a personal inspection of one of these units. I unpacked it, put the filter on it as instructed. For my only so called negative, I would have been more impressed if the regulator was not an integral part of the manifold assembly since that one item could be economically replaced if needed as a stand-alone part. When I started the unit it was VERY quiet and pumped a 2 1/2 gal of air in an impressive time period, and recovery from 95 psi to 125 psi was a matter of seconds. When used, I will look forward to the "whisper" quiet operating volume it generates as compared to my old, not so sadly departed pancake compressor. It should be very capable of fulfilling its designed purpose and time will tell concerning its durability as with most any item. As of this writing, my decision to purchase stands on delivered value for the dollar.
